Minnesota Vikings (read Pittsburgh Steelers) fan Mike Florio's a Batman fanatic. He was telling Cleveland Browns fan Myles Simmons this week that he's doubling down on the "new" 'Batman' car chase being the greatest in cinema history, having discussed the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback situation for almost half the show. He said (paraphrasing) to viewers of 'NBC Pro Football Talk', "don't text me, don't call me, don't reply different" ... - he said it's the best and that's all there is to it. Did some Steelers players appear in one of the 'Batman' movies way back when? Anyway, for context, Florio has been slamming Tim Burton's 'Batman' (1989) saying it was terrible and overhyped and led him to never again become too excited by the prospect of seeing a well hyped movie. He didn't spell out the one he was praising, but I think it must be Matt Reeves' 'The Batman' (2022). I pretty much gave up watching comic book films after seeing 'The Avengers' at the cinema, so I looked for a clip online, and lo and behold I found one that's stunning. Not just that, it looks like an old school muscle car chase from the 1960s through 1980s, with atmospheric cinematography, camera's attached to car frames, challenging weather etc. Gotta hand it to Florio. "The (Kansas City) Chiefs always make it exciting. You know that Batman isn't going to die, but it's fun to watch the movie where Batman almost dies 20 different times. That's what makes the Chiefs so much fun to watch even though it feels like there's an inevitability that they're going to win it all."

I remember being disappointed when they first released images of the Reeves-verse Batmobile. But that chase scene with the Penguin was terrific.
