After reading Kenneth Williams diaries (man had a bizarre obsession with his bowel movements) it's hard to see them without considering how cheaply they were made, how badly paid and treated the actors were and how much the cast disliked each other. The camping one was made in the winter and they even had to spray mud green to make it look like summer.
They just remind me of the general dreariness of the 1970's.
