What a fecking palaver! I thought that was Ranieri presiding over the draw! Just someone who looks like him. So what's the go? I know the points table is 1 group of 36, but have they separated them into groups of 9 for fixturing purposes? |

I know the points table is 1 group of 36, but have they separated them into groups of 9 for fixturing purposes? As you say, one big group. Each team plays 8 matches against 8 different sides, four home and four away. Two of those sides will be from the top 9 ranked teams, 2 from those ranked 10 to 18, 2 from 19 to 27 and 2 from 27 to 36. Top 8 in the final table go through automatically to the knockout stages and positions 9 to 24 will have to win a 2 legged tie against another team who finished in 9 to 24. Bottom 12 sides eliminated. |

The teams that finish outside the top 24 are out of Europe completely. Those that finish 9th to 24th but lose the two-legged playoff … I’m not sure if they drop down to one of the other two Uefa competitions or not. |
