Were gathered with family day before sister's wedding. The Gaudreau brothers were cycling on a road when a drunk driving in the same direction attempted to pass two other vehicles and struck them from behind.
It's not an "accident" when someone deliberately chooses to drive drunk, using a 2-ton vehicle as an unsecured weapon while making other stupid choices on the road, killing people.

That is horrible. R.I.P.
I hope the drunk driver spends a long time in prison.

ESPN’s ‘First Take’ never mentioned Johnny Gaudreau’s death awfulannouncing.com/nhl/first-take-johnny-gaudreau-death.htmlESPN really showed their true colors in their annual rundown of the most important sports stories in 2011. The most tragic incident to happen in the history of professional hockey happened in September 2011: the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl plane crash that killed everyone on board except for the aircraft's mechanic. Dead were numerous former NHL players, most notably Pavol Demitra, who almost single-handedly won the Olympic semi-final match for Slovakia against Canada the year before. Also killed were coaches Brad McCrimmon, Alexander Karpovtsev, and Igor Koralev, as well as other well-known former NHL players such as Josef Vasicek, Ruslan Salei, Karel Rachunek, and Karlis Straskins. ESPN never mentioned it. And that tells you everything you need to know about what they think of the sport.
