Well, this is it for Port, playing at home, having destroyed Geelong at Kardinia Park, having won 8 of their last 9 and having defeated Geelong in the corresponding fixture twice in the last 3 years. If not now, when?
Geelong look the team who need the most to go right given personnel but haven't been pussy-cats on the road this year and have gone an impressive 7-2 in the last 9 games.

Geelong simply have AFL finals pedigree.
Port simply don’t.
Cats by 3 goals

Geelong simply have AFL finals pedigree. Port simply don’t. Cats by 3 goals I think it was Corbin Middlemass who referred to Port as 'The team where Tomorrow never comes.' I think that summed up. They are always what they were and never grow into what they could be. Still, I'm an eternal optimist and besides, beating Geelong at home in qualifying finals has not been their problem under Hinkley, it's the next game they can't get past.

Well, that was disappointing. One sided game in which the home team barely fired a shot. It puts a rather unremarkable Geelong team (middle of the road in defence and attack) in the box seat to win the comp given the likelihood they'll be playing a non-Victorian team in the Granny. Power out in straight sets again. A Seinfeld result in that nothing changes and no one grows. That's really killed the whole finals series for me.
