I think we are at the stage where these sort of things are made pureley for collectors as investments. They are probably limited in number.

(I actually had one, but didn't play with it). So I don't understand the fascination with either collecting dolls or playing with them.

I was either playing dress-up or playing in the dirt making mud pies. I always felt confused when I'd see other little girls play with their dolls (Barbie or baby dolls, no matter). I'd rather draw, read or listen to music. Aaaaand, nothing's changed.

Don't think I ever saw a GI Joe on sale over here. I also had a deep see diving suit for him where you put him in a bucket of water for no real reason whatsoever. Do you remember those small rocket type things from the same period where you put "caps" in them and threw them at the ground to get them to go off?
