One of the better retirements in recent years. He had intended to quietly announce his retirement a few weeks after Brisbane's Grand Final win but the story broke early so he made it official today. 204 games. 395 goals. Walking away from guaranteed 7 figures as he doesn't want to keep driving up to Brisbane from Byron Bay every weekend.
Could be the last in a pretty remarkable dynasty. 4 brothers (Terry, Anthony, Neale and Chris) from Ungarie, a NSW farming town of around 300 people who all played 100+ games in the AFL.
Terry was the most decorated (3 All Australians, 2× Essendon premiership captain), Neale the most impressive man, Chris the most unassuming and Anthony is Joe's dad.
