It was only delivered today so I haven't read it yet. It's exceptional! And there are also a lot of youtube videos on it to check out where Peterson discusses what it's all about. This book was recommended to me, and it was the start of my love-affair with Jordan Peterson! Highly recommend reading this book. It's wonderful!

I had quoted this on the religion thread before I even heard of Peterson
and I see he quotes it too, as part of the lobster discussion.
The book starts very well.

I had quoted this on the religion thread before I even heard of Peterson and I see he quotes it too, as part of the lobster discussion. The book starts very well. Yes, the lobsters are very, very important! He correctly points out that society (of any sort) is, and needs to be, built on a hierarchy of competency, not popularity. This is why we get a high number of voters (and yes I'm including illegal aliens in this) who are not adept at running a country, but the greater their numbers, the more "popular" the rise, but that absolutely does NOT equate with competence whatsoever. But people refuse to see this, refuse to accept this. It's like having dozens of 10 year olds deciding what to do with the $20 their 18 year old brother earned in a job, because there's more little 10 year olds who want to spend other people's money, and more kids find that thought "popular" but it does not lend itself to productivity or society well-being. This is a superb book and extremely well-written. If you ever get the opportunity to watch any of his lectures, again, highly recommended. The man is total and complete brilliance on 2 legs! I would love, love, love to go to a speaking engagement of his.
