Any of you ever seen this Bill Murray movie? This was considered Bill's first foray into drama and he co-wrote the movie. He got this movie funded and made as part of his deal for taking part in "Ghostbusters". Familiar faces show up like Catherine Hicks, Denholm Elliott, and Bill's brother Brian Doyle-Murray. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: The Razor's Edge (1984) - 2.5 out of 4 stars"Ambitious, if anachronistic, remake of 1946 film with enough plot for five movies. Young American survives WW1 and begins to question meaning of his life--while his closest friends go through personal crises of their own. It's hard to read much spiritual thought on Murray's deadpan face, but he gives it a good try (and cowrote script with director Byrum). Russell comes off best in the showy role previously played by Anne Baxter. Warts and all, it's still an interesting film. J-D-C Scope."

Theresa Russell as Sophie aside it was terrible. Stick with the 1946 version.

It's one of the worst movies I have ever seen and that's saying a lot. Murray seems, from the way he delivers his lines, not to understand the words and Catherine Hicks plays her character more like a modern hippie girl than a 1920s flapper. It is flat out terrible. See the 1946 original with Tyrone Power, Gene Tierney, and Clifton Webb, instead. You will thank me if you do.

He should have waited until Wes Anderson was a thing to get it off the ground.
