It would make sense to use gender neutral pronouns, everyone in Sweden has been neutered.

"The move is one of several taken by the national Evangelical Lutheran church in updating a 31-year-old handbook setting out how services should be conducted in terms of language, liturgy, hymns and other aspects. "
On the plus side, at least this lot update their books, unlike some religions which really need to.

In Christianity, intelligent progressive Christians can extrapolate and apply the teachings of the Bible to modern life. But stupid, ignorant, simple-minded Christians constantly have a problem applying the lessons of a two thousand year old book to today's world. That appears to be a problem with Islam too. Probably with Judaism also. Although Jews don't go around shooting, bombing and cutting off the heads of those with whom they disagree.

On the other hand, if humans can "update" religion (the beliefs supposedly given to you by God) , doesn't that tell you something about God? Either he created the universe and now does not care, or he does not exist.
Either he created the universe and now does not care, or he does not exist. Absolutely not. Extrapolating and applying the lessons of the Bible is a matter of intelligence. Amongst all the tools of evolution, benefits to the more intelligent, and consequences to the more ignorant, is a common way of thinning the herd. Those who can intelligently apply the lessons of the Bible to modern life benefit more. And those who cannot, suffer consequences --- sometimes death. That's evolution. Always is, always has been, and probably always will be.

Weird, you sound like Scrooge wanting to decrease the surplus population when it comes to religion, but when it comes to your poor ass on Obamacare suddenly you sound like Karl Marx. As for me, I know that many lessons in the bible are good ones, but I don't need the irrational and superstitious to tell me this. the truly intelligent know this shit from living life. The less intelligent people need to be told by magic spirits.
The less intelligent people need to be told by magic spirits. I never said everyone deserves taxpayer funded healthcare. I said everyone who works and pays taxes, deserves taxpayer funded healthcare. Even with universal healthcare, many people will still die due to ignorance, incompetence and stupidity. But that is life. Or for believers, that is God deciding who lives and dies. But whether you believe in God or not, it is not our right to kill people just because you rather have a second car or a bigger house. Especially when those you want to kill have contributed to you having a better life. I don't care if you believe in God or not. Regardless, there are wise lessons one can learn from the Bible even if they don't believe. And this has nothing to do with whether or not one can apply the teachings of the Bible to modern life.
