When the trailer came out, I said this movie would suck. I could not have been more wrong.
The movie is great. It's uplifting and inspirational. Superman is likable. Krypto is adorable and hilarious.
So yeah, what a lesson in "don't judge a book by its cover" this was. Superman is back.

I really liked the teaser so was feeling decent about it… it was some of the others rumors after that worried me. They were unfounded. I liked it so much I decided I wanted to buy the steelbook BD but was bummed when I discovered that I missed the boat and all the US preorders were sold out (when I looked a few weeks ago). Managed to find a store in the UK that still had preorders available, so will be waiting for that to arrive before I watch it again :).

Can't wait to see it. Though, I'll just wait til it starts streaming on HBO Max(CraveTv in Canada).

Solid flick. Very much achieved that mixture of optimism and hope set by the original. Didn’t take itself too seriously. Exactly what it should be.

I thought it was a blast as well. Best Superman since Superman II.

I thought it was meh.
Not that the Snyderverse was any better. It wasn't.
I did like the Snyder Cut, but I would've loved to see what Gunn did with Cavill as Superman.
The new guy just doesn't work for me.

The new guy just doesn't work for me. Amy Adams and Rachel Brosnahan are both terrible unattractive Lois Lanes, Smallville's Erica Durance was the only attractive Lois. Cavill had the look but his acting gets worse every rewatch, David is better. Snyder was going to have Bruce Wayne fuck Lois thus having his kid, kiss the ground that James Gunn took over and hug your imaginary kids.

It wasn't a bad movie, however I was put off by Superman's gratuitous full frontal nude scene.

Way too much reliance on Krypto at certain points to move the plot.

But is it worth the 40 dollar fee to watch it on the flat screen television at home?
The last thing in the world that I would rather not experience is the horror of a movie theater seat that feels dry to the touch but squelches with rancid urine when you sit down. A situation where some unknown stranger just effectively pissed your pants but is long gone so there is really nothing you can do about it.
And or the screaming child sitting 2 rows behind you while the pungent odor of popcorn and shit fills the air to choking proportions.
Which is why I prefer watching "R" rated horror movies at the theater because ironically you won't encounter any of those kinds of horrors at an "R" rated horror movie venue.
