BTW, to measure debt, you need to remove the amount that is paid off in the same month that it is spent, which such reports do not. For example, I put all of my day-to-day shit on a credit card, but I pay it in full at the end of the month. That does not equal debt, because it is within the no-interest payment terms of the card. It is only debt if it goes beyond 30 days. What your statistic really proves is that more people are in secure jobs so credit card companies will give them a card. That is a good thing.
