And of course, keep the change Bob
Something strange about Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid is that I swear that Jack Warden stars in it but I can’t find any evidence online. When Billy visits this family at a farmstead, and this family all has red hair. I’m sure that Jack Warden played the father. It’s the scene where Billy shoots the Jack Elam character. Jack Warden talks about a son he had who died in a shoot out. It’s a superb scene and he had a lot of dialogue, but why can’t I find evidence of it? Is it a glitch in the matrix?

To answer my own question, yes he was in it. At 1hr 12mins But why is he not credited on the imdb listing?

You’re the guy who doesn’t like The Wild Bunch, right? And where is Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid? Hard to believe The Wild Bunch wasn't on that list..

Spaghetti Westerns are cartoonish and too many compromises are taken. Even when the actors are Americans speaking English, the Italians were notorious dubbers and wouldn’t record dialogue even for Italian language films. So you are compromising the performances somewhat. Plus their films focused on the gunplay and on action. If you think that’s the pinnacle of Old West storytelling, fine.
Anyway my favourite westerns are from a small pool as my viewing has only scraped the top of the barrel, and I tend to gravitate towards 70s westerns but my favourites are:
McCabe and Mrs Miller
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid
The Hired Hand
The Wild Bunch
Ride in the Whirlwind
The Shooting
The Ballad of Cable Hogue
Chato’s Land
Lawman
The Wild Rovers

Why is UNFORGIVEN (1992) not on the list?
Why is STAGECOACH (1939) not on the list?
Why is THE BIG COUNTRY (1958) not on your list.
Why is THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES (1976) not on the list?
or RIO BRAVO (1959)?
RED RIVER (1948)?
THE NAKED SPUR (1953).
BEND OF THE RIVER (1952)
No DANCES WITH WOLVES (1990) either?
THE LONG RIDERS (1980)?
THE WILD BUNCH (1969)?
THE GUNFIGHTER (1950)?
COMANCHE STATION (1960)?
PURSUED (1947).
ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST (1967)?
VERA CRUZ (1954)?
* Without the inclusion of these and a few other great westerns your poll is hard to take seriously drystyx!

What kind of lab experiment gone wrong excludes The Magnificent Seven from a poll about Westerns.
