...for ruining the start of the 20th Century and hindering its progress of humanity. You mean like in America when we gave those pesky womenfolk the right to vote and outlawed akkahol? A pox on humanity, I say!

Does anyone understand what I mean? Pretend we don’t and then explain it to us in words we can all understand.

Does anyone understand what I mean? Pretend we don’t and then explain it to us in words we can all understand. It is a concept of era thing. Look at history throughout the 20th Century. A new century dawned, that amazing restored 1906 San Francisco video on the trolley car, the world seemed on the verge of progress, people were fashionable, technology was evolving, women were starting to be a voice and then what happened?

It wasn’t the patriarchy that changed from its medieval, Great Chain of Being mindset, it’s the people living under the very conservative old geezer figured out how to get around him.
And it wasn’t just women and peasant men kept down, it was the Jews, the Africans, and the belief that God did not like women and those guys at all and surly didn’t want them out from under a real man’s strict control or else society will fall apart.
The patriarchy has reached its stage in human process when some female, probably a minority, is wiping the dribble from his senile old chin.

I believe the start of the 20th century was ruined by the patriarchal ruling class and royals of the era with the advent of WWI, which was devised to keep the peasants from revolting against the status quo of the era.
And heaven forbid, women might vote and usurp conservative power.

A pox on humanity, I say! Prohibition 1919. Women's suffrage 1920. The timing is not a coincidence since prohibition was largely a women's movement.

And heaven forbid, women might vote and usurp conservative power. The western patriarchal ruling class is based on the premise women have absolutely nothing to say because the Bible instructed women to silently obey their husbands and fathers before them. Women due to being daughters of Eve are inherent corrupters of men, far less intelligent and too emotional. This is not a knock at men, those folks didn't know any better. Even so, for most of Western history, we didn't achieve half the progress we could have.

The timing is not a coincidence since prohibition was largely a women's movement. And religious. But in an era when husbands routinely drank the Friday's wages up before he got home, then hit the wife when she asks how will we pay the rent, the temperance movement, though ill thought out, was a means to make their Menfolk behave better, and you gay men were no help, by the way. By the 1920s, women working in the factories and shops learned they could survive on their own.
