Oh God, can't we keep the race bollocks to the yank board. If it features predominantly in the media, it is part of the zeitgeist unfortunately. I sometimes listen to BBC News radio. I tell myself, if the story is about anything concerning representation then I’m turning it off, and a large amount if the time it is! No shit, the last time I turned it on about a week ago the first words I heard were ‘Asians are underrepresented on the screen…’ and I switched it off. It's not the "zeitgeist" though, these culture things are examples of people or opinion pieces making or taking stupid remarks and trying to create a narrative from them. Then people like the OP use them to push their own particular race agenda over and over again. Culture wars are largely the creation of extreme opinion, click bait and poor cheap journalism being used as an attempt to create news rather than report it.

Left-wingers thrive on race bollocks. Well, I consider myself left wing, can you name race threads that I start? Just get sick of certain posters and the non stop race threads. Expect it on the crazy board, this one usually avoids the culture nonsense. You don't (until tory becomes a race and then you will be the worst offender). But that doesn't mean what I said is not the case. The Guardian, for example, is 50% race stuff these days. Independent not far behind.

I agree that the origin is a pair of twats, but that gets amplified massively by loads of news sites and TV programmes running with it, and that gets amplified again when it goes into workplaces (endless inclusivity training these days) and schools (curricula now featuring such studies quite prominently). It's a lot bigger than you think, I would say.

It's a lot bigger than you think, I would say. True, albeit that a lot of it is dependent on media budgets being a lot smaller than you think. Most radio show hinge on a not particularly well paid shock jock and an interviewee who will cut his dick off in return for 5 minutes of air time.
One of the grand nieces beaus wrote an article that proclaimed that behind all Tory policy was a dream of empire. I pointed out that I was one of the few remaining Brits who could remember the empire and that was only because we got an apple on Empire Day, so was he not flogging a rather elderly horse ? Possibly the lad replied, but there were a few academics who would respond and that would help gain him security of tenure.
I like that lad and welcome him as a worthwhile addition to the clan

England is the motherland for White People. They invented the concept. Maybe that's because it's predominantly white. DUH.

What's stopping the from moving to the country side? Nobody ever rolled out the welcome mat for me. No matter where I lived or moved to. The article was written by a victim vampire. The country side means you want to keep your neighbors at a distance. You don't want to live right next door to someone where you can hear them screwing. And I did read the dumb article. People don't have to like you. They just have to leave you alone. And you them. Also if the property owners doesn't give you permission to be on their land camping. Tough shit. It's their land.

Yes, that's because as I believe I stated elsewhere, journalism has become lazy and become clickbait whether on the right or left. It's just like the worst bits of the garbage you see on the American board, either obsessed with tiny minority Trans type victim stuff or ridiculous shite white supremacist conspiracy theories. Largely we manage to keep it off this board though so it's depressing when it's dragged over here. You should change the name of the yank board to "culture wars", it has very little to do with any intelligent political debate.

England is the motherland for White People. They invented the concept. Did we? Are we the only white country in Europe? Are the know-it-all Yanks once again trying to fuck this board up? It had to start somewhere. Where do you think it started? And us Yanks weren’t Yanks until 1776. Between 1619 and then was 157 years of British rule on the eastern seaboard from Canada down to Georgia.

I only read the news, so never see these stories, people must be actively seeking them out on some kind of "affirmation" basis to try and prove a point. Seems like way too much hard work spending time trawling through Stormfront or "woke weekly" just to prove how downtrodden you are. Still, whatever gets you through the night I guess.

It's a lot bigger than you think, I would say. A female friend of my son's a teacher, I'll have to find out whether that's true or just the usual over reporting. Sometimes the reporting is so wrong it's unbelievable like young kids being told to be nice to all different people being reported as encouraging transsexual and the like. Media has become so entrenched and people so in need of having their points agreed with that they don't seek out unbiased facts although that becomes harder and harder with each day to locate. I tend to go on experience, I get constantly told the NHS is unable to function for one reason or another, yet through Covid I've had 5 operations and been treated absolutely wonderfully on each occasion, yes the staff admit they are run off their feet but it certainly ticks along nicely where I am.
