A few things about IPL 1. The fielding standards of non-international Indian players is very bad. 2. The captains do not know the correct batting order for their team. 3. Livingstone can hit mighty sixes. 4. Among uncapped Indian players who I want to see in Indian team - Got to be Rajasthan's Yashasvi Jaiswal. He is not a slow starter. Does not waste ball. West indies has won T-20 world cup twice, mostly because their batsman have got the correct style for t-20 cricket, in which there is never a favourite team. You just need batsman who get going from start. India should get the services of Jaiswal and Gaikwad. Players like Kohli, Gill and KL Rahul and Gill have the same approach. India should play only 1 of these 3. If I am not wrong Australia does not always play Smith. Being the best test batsman does not necessarily mean your selection should be automatic. To be fair India did work on this. They were scoring a lot quicker in home T20Is going into the last World T20. Then they arrived in Australia and were greeted by big grounds with slow pitches. So they adjusted their approach and it got them to the semis. Where it went wrong for them was a) their semi final was on a fast Adelaide pitch with small square boundaries which required a different approach from the one needed on every other ground used in the tournament and b) England's openers batted unbelievably well.

Harry Brook having an absolute shocker and must surely be close to getting dropped. Hyderabad need to win out and I can't see him helping them much the way he's playing.

Lucknow Downs Mumbai courtesy of a phenomenal last over from Mohsin. Defending 11 only conceded 5.

ICC scraps the soft signal for catch reviews. I give them 18 months before people start complaining about how confusing it is not having a reference point for the 3rd umpire and bring it back.
Weirdest addition was if a batter is bowled off a free hit any runs scored from the ricochet are given to the batter, regardless of whether they hit the ball or not. Not sure what "problem" that change is there to redress.

Cameron Green only bowled one over, the second of the match, and only conceded two runs (but there was three leg bye singles). Still, he should have been given the chance to bowl some more. Hyderabad scored 200 and if Mumbai can’t chase it down, they have no chance of making the finals.
They will still need RCB to lose tonight’s match against Gujarat. Gujarat have no motivation to win given they will top the ladder either way, but the rain forecast in Bengalaru may hurt the chances of a result there 😈
Green and Rohit in now and Green is going ballistic. Hopefully he doesn’t crash and burn.

But I hope to Bangalore qualify over Mumbai to see Kohli's team end with another failure in playoffs.

I think Kohli proved you wrong (not for the first time) but what a massive choke from RCB'S late overs bowling! Full toss on middle stump to Gill in the 19th over and a wide beamer, followed up by a plain wide and then a half volley in the slot to end it.

Gujarat win! Mumbai are through to the finals! Phew, that was tense. I’m glad Mumbai are through. I like Green and Behrendorff, and Mumbai paid a lot for Green. I just wanted them to at least make the finals and for Green to show that he’s worth the high price. And for Kohli to lose too, that was nice.
And if Gujarat win the title this year, that’s ok too. They deserve it and I like that they didn’t give this game away which they could have easily done.

But I reckon Gujarat were always going to get those six runs in the last over.

Gujarat defeated by Chennai. Chennai in the final. Mumbai vs Lucknow tonight. Mumbai are finding form late in the season. SKY, Green, Rohit and Tim David is a lot of firepower.

Ashes prediction. I'm sorry, but I'm taking Australia and pretty easily. I know Bazball abd belief and all that, but I just have question marks over too many England players. Crawley and Pope are walking wickets. Brook's come back to earth. Stokes can hardly move. Root has a poor record against Australia (8 years and 16 tests since his last Ashes hundred). They've idiotically saddled Bairstow with the gloves and he's trying to get his eye back in following a long lay off. Their bowling is their bowling. Will be effective on seamers but not every pitch will be one. I can't see them getting white washed but winning 3 tests? I'll flat out say that's not going to happen. I'll say Australia 4-1. 2-all if they win a close one is absolute best case for mine.

And one of my favourite cricket podcasts has folded. Golden Ducks and the rest of the wecricket empire is gone. And I mean gone. All their content taken off YouTube, patreon and podcast providers. Only video left is of Dan Zadjeviks telling us Keiran Hornsby has left the channel. Keiran also closed all his SM accounts leading to speculation he had died. But I can't see why the old videos would have been taken down unless there was a personal, probably legal, dispute going on. And surely it wouldn't be that hard to scan funeral notices for Keiran Hornsby, even for The Times? So, a shame but all things end, including financially lucrative friendships.

Akash Madhwal destroys Lucknow with 5-5. Mumbai will play Gujarat in the prelim. Are we headed for the Liverpool-Man Utd final match up of Chennai vs Mumbai?
