Hopefully, CSK the most widely loved team wins IPL again. I hate pandya so can't stand Gujarat and don't like Mumbai either.

I hope Mumbai wins - honestly, I’m starting to get a bit tired of internet chatter about MS Dhoni and CSK. Yes, he’s been a stellar captain throughout his career, but the truth is CSK are where they are because of their opening batters and their very underrated and varied bowling lineup, not some magical tactical combination thought up by MS Dhoni. This is the stage for Tim David to really show everyone what the hype is about.

I want to see Chennai win because I love the city of Chennai and the state of Tamil Nadu. Not much more complicated than that. Don't think it would be the worst thing for Cam Green to receive an early reminder that he isn't God's Gift to cricket either.
Dhoni coming out and smacking 20 odd off 8 balls would be nice too.

Damn, I'm rooting for the Titans, and if they don't make the final I'm hoping the Mumbai Indians take the crown. 'Course, I love M.S. Dhoni too.

Whether Chennai plays at home or away, the crowd is always dressed in yellow. I have never seen a city's team receive this much support across the country in any sport. But it will definitely dwindle with Dhoni's eventual exit. I personally don't care about Dhoni. It's Jadeja the best Indian player in my opinion that I would like to see win.

Cameron Green appears to be an even-tempered guy so I dare say he’s humble as well. Plus he has had ups and downs already this season as well as many critics of his high salary. Mumbai Indians wanted him based on his performance against India in the most recent international matches and were willing to pay that price for him, that’s all.

Rain is impacting the the qualifying match. If it’s a washout, Gujarat go through.

Gujarat or, more accurately, Shubman Gill humped Mumbai. Green retired hurt with a hit on the fore arm but returned so hopefully it won't effect his WTC Final and Ashes campaigns.

Michael Holding was Whispering Death, Terry Aldermann was The Smiling Assassin, Sir Curtley Ambrose was the man who got to experience the sheer unadulterated absolute awesomeness of being Curtley Ambrose.

Michael Holding was Whispering Death, Terry Aldermann was The Smiling Assassin, Sir Curtley Ambrose was the man who got to experience the sheer unadulterated absolute awesomeness of being Curtley Ambrose. Ambrose is vastly, criminally, underrated by modern cricket fans. I’ve seen quite a few posts about how good Courtney Walsh was, but he was never as dangerous or effective as Ambrose in that late 80’s to early 90’s period. It’s actually sad how quite a lot of people today know so little about just how good cricketers of just a generation ago really were. I saw a post on a social a while back about the best West Indian XI of all time. Granted, almost all had Lara and Chanderpaul. Most though had names like Shai Hope, Andre Russell, Keiron Pollard, Sunil Narine, and quite few even had Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder and Kraigg Braithwaite. The lack of, I dunno, Viv Richards and Clive Lloyd (not to mention Greenidge and Haynes) was astounding….. although many had Sobers, Holding and Marshall - so there’s that….

It's like when people are asking who the greatest or best ODI batter I've seen play. My answer: Sir Viv Richards. "Wait, that's a stupid answer! They didn't know how to bat in ODI cricket back then." Richards scored 6721 ODI runs at 47 and a strike rate of 90. Sounds like every modern player is just imitating Viv to me.

Imagine the Master Blaster with a modern bat, flat ODI pitches and shorter boundaries. OMG - it would be a fucken slaughter. I keep imagining a bowling a slower ball bouncer to Viv - it would be equal parts tragic and hilarious.
The only other player who always had such a big influence on the outcome of a match was Dean Jones. Bevan revolutionised chasing targets, but always played in sides that had a batting order full of genuine match winners in white ball cricket. I don’t think Viv or Deano had that luxury, and modern stars of white ball cricket definitely do - although Kohli’s ODI record is astonishing…..
