Saw it Thursday first showtime. Best MCU movie in years. Since Infinity War for me. Wonderful film. Makes me excited that James Gunn will be helping the DCU along here for the next several years. I was upset with Adam Warlock. He's basically now forgotten overall in the MCU. They do this so much these days. Thankfully he wasn't made out to be the next best thing like others have been then tossed aside. They explained why he was the way he was. By the end, he was what he should be.

Somewhere along the line MCU stuffed it up Warlock is supposed to be a huge character for Marvel. But outside of Guardians they never did anything with him. Screen Crush does some great videos on every Marvel movie, it's on YouTube. They made a great point that things have been backed up with covid and directors like Gunn having to delay their projects. Which is why some of these stories have felt disjointed and the CGI is rushed and awful looking. And might be a reason why Disney brought Iger back into the picture.

The end credit scene? You have a problem with that? You want the whole Magus plot? Someone else can do that if they want.

I might watch Guardians of the Galaxy III.
The first two are pretty much the only superhero movies I've seen since the superhero craze began.
The only other one I saw was the movie with the guy with the big chin using his power glove to save half the universe (Not interested in second part).

Like I said though, they never promised him a big spot on the MCU so this doesn't upset me all that much.

Thanos is mentioned in his role as "Father" to Gamora & Nebula. You could watch the 3 without touching the rest of the MCU. The family came together in 1 Grew up some in 2 3 is graduation time

People weren't going to movies like they were pre-pandemic & these movies cost a bit high end to just stream. So it was Gunn who delayed adding Warlock in 2.

Honestly I felt it was meh.
Though the story was different, I had the exact experience I did with II.
Perhaps it's because my expectations were high.
I stopped having expectations. The movie’s biggest strengths are the familiarity with the characters and the tension that one or more of them will die.

I want to take my kids but I haven’t seen much since Endgame, do I need to see any of the newer ones to understand it? Just the Christmas special.

My kid enjoyed how it didn't set up anything else in the MCU. Just a Guardians movie. No Kang connection or anything. No hints of what else is going on in the MCU. One can follow Groot. Died/baby Groot in 1 Teen/annoying Groot 2 Young adult/works well with others Groot 3

Ayesha explained it was High Evolutionary's fault. Though the Sovereign as his base group never left him much room. They are pretty much what HG said they were-pretty, vain, useless.

Just the Christmas special. I haven't seen that one. Sis did. Didnt matter. So Nebula has a new arm. It sets up Peter’s growing homesickness for Earth and explains the end credits. This is not as pronounced in the movie.
