For me, I am 49. Here is what I HOPE: I am going to enjoy my computer store for 2 more years, then sell it while the selling is good. Then I am going take all the books and comics currently filling up my computer store to open up a little book shop in a 1000' location and enjoy it as long as I can in semi-retirement. To make some "just in case the money", I can work 20-30 hours a week for whomever buys my computer store to ensure a smooth transition. Then I can read books, work on computers part time, AND post on here (or wherever) into my golden years! WIN-WIN-WIN!

Hopes and dreams are for the young. I'm in my 40s. It's just one day at a time for the next 25 years or so until I can retire.

If my boss will leave me the fuck alone and let me do my job. It's when he's up in my bizznass that it's too much.

Can you endure another 25 years of your current occupation? Maybe. If my boss will leave me the fuck alone and let me do my job. It's when he's up in my bizznass that it's too much. my wife is pretty high up in a fortune 500 company and it annoys her to no end when they 1. do the management shuffle - where they'll take managers and reassign them willy-nilly to "mix things up". it REALLY screws up the mojo but the execs do not seem to care. 2. promote a person who technically has seniority but it pretty much non-functioning to a supervisor or manager of a different division - technically promoting someone to make them someone else's headache even though they have no idea what their new team does nor anyway to really "manage or supervise" them. makes me glad i don't do the corporate grind until i realize i have no paid holidays, no paid vacations, no paid sick days, no health insurance, and often get molested by my boss. =/

I want to live until I am 117.
I was effectively at work when I was 15 and retired at 66, which meant that I was employed for 51 years and it is my ambition to spend as long retired as I spent in work.
I am now 76, which means that I have another 41 years to go. Of course, I have done a bit of wheeling and dealing in the mean time, so maybe I had better try for 120, which was good enough for Moses
