This is what I love about the SJW cult. Being nice is considered more important than acknowledging reality.
What's the big deal? Uganda is a shithole. There's no controversy in that.

The first sentence in that article is a doozy: "It takes a level of pomposity inconceivable to most of us to describe another country as a 'shithole'."
It does? I must be a one-percenter, then, because I have no trouble conceiving it. I have referred to countries as shitholes and hellholes my entire adult life, and although I have many flaws, I don't think pomposity is one of them.

This is the bad side of liberalism, the left, socialism, the Democratic Party, women in politics, etc. Just like everybody doesn't think having the best economy is the most important. Everybody doesn't think having nobody suffer is most important either. The United States has a lot of problems. Nobody said it was perfect. But the United States is not a shithole country. This is a perfect example of what is wrong with this country. Certain groups thinking everybody thinks like them or should think like them. Everybody is not an extreme leftist or rightist. The author of this article has a popular point of view. But by writing this article, that author has shown how extremely ignorant they are of others and their points of view. This came out of Fortune magazine? I thought they were pretty right-wing.

A level of pomposity inconceivable to most, I say! And most of the outraged people would be perfectly okay if anyone called the area between New York and LA a "shithole".

What a fricking moron that author is. Obviously, that guy never goes anywhere except Manhattan and Hollywood.

Oh sure, he will boo hoo hoo about poverty in the US in his article, for purposes of attacking Trump, however, in another context, say if white formerly middle class workers are upset over loss of jobs and the jobs left being bid-down by immigrant workers, this turd Josh Hoxie will happily laugh at their plight. "Dey tuk err jerbs!" he'd cackle, but as long as we don't insource mediocre opinion journalists he won't care.

You can glean enough to make some reasonable assumptions, the obvious one that jumps right out at me is that this piece is in Fortune, the magazine for wealthy who normally wouldn't print articles that piss and moan about poverty, but since Trumps looking to reign in immigration naturally they'll go that route when it makes a (kinda sorta?) counter point to the President. I mean really, I don't know what this guys point even was. Nobody denies shitty stuff happens in the USA. All things considered, if you are truly concerned about the growing number of poor in the US and concentration of wealth in the hands of a few, cut out importation of millions of new workers, driving down wages and driving up home prices.

This came out of Fortune magazine? I thought they were pretty right-wing. Fence sitting is one of the great obstacles to fixing what is wrong with society. And what do fence sitters like to do? They like to navel gaze and sit on their asses and obstruct anyone else from solving any problems. Fence sitters are unable to come to terms with what is going on around them or even acknowledge that there is a problem that is effecting the lives of a lot of other people, just because everything seems to be going alright in their own lives. Which in some ways is even worse than the hard Right Wing Conservatives who often do acknowledge that there is a problem but that it is not their problem. The defense of someone who wants to obstruct but without offering any real solutions to problems. www.newsweek.com/trumps-shithole-slur-projected-trump-hotel-washington-780897?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=yahoo_news&utm_campaign=rss&utm_content=/rss/yahoous/newsSure you can laugh and carry on in a juvenile way because the president used profanity Or you could even throw your hands up and refuse to get involved because you don't want to have to deal with it, just hoping that if you ignore it it will just go away or that somehow it will just blow over and somehow not matter at all. Or you can come to terms with the fact that the president did something inappropriate that could have a negative impact on how other nations associate with the U.S.

His point was we should be a socialist country who takes money away from the rich and takes care of everybody. Fortune magazine I believe is a big business magazine. They are right-wing. This guy is left-wing. I am surprised this article came out of Fortune magazine. I must confess though, I don't read Fortune magazine. I disagree with your solution to rich and poor. Immigrants help the economy. Not hurt it. But unlike this guy, I don't want to take care of lazy people --- citizen or illegal. I believe if you work and follow the law, you should be promised basic necessities. But if you are a lazy piece of shit, I don't care if you live or die.

There's a reason Fortune printed this article at this particular time, and it's about helping the rich, not because they're suddenly worried about the poor. And that ought to tell you who mass immigration helps. Think dude, think!

I believe if you work and follow the law, you should be promised basic necessities. But if you are a lazy piece of shit, I don't care if you live or die. That is not the correct attitude to have, because circumstances could come around to where you wind up being "one of those lazy pieces of shit." You never know, something could go wrong with your heart, or you could end up breaking a few bones. You never know what the future holds, so you shouldn't get into those kinds of games of mocking fate. Karma has a habit of taking away what you are the most proud of. If you have that kind of attitude then it is only a matter of time before you are no longer walking on sunshine and you have someone else mocking and making fun of you for your health problems. What goes around comes around, what you do to others will inevitably be done to you which is why you shouldn't do to others what you wouldn't want others to do to you. Everyone eventually has to come to terms with health problems, you can either bounce back from those health problems with the help of others, or you can gradually get worse with others denying you health care and laughing at you for being too weak or sick to defend yourself. More to the point, even if you choose to disregard that as superstition you should still be aware that that kind of attitude of wanting lazy people to die is not acceptable in society and is a marker of psychopathy and or the potential for violent or homicidal behavior.
