Looks okay but these are more Tom Hiddlestone as Doctor Who fanfics than anything Loki. I was about to say this pretty much just looks like Dr. Who rather than anything Asgardian-related. He barely even wears anything resemebling his usual Loki-attire.

Well it’s not really a Loki show if you think about it- it’s a vehicle for Kang and the multiverse stuff. Just like Ant Man 3, the protagonist is largely irrelevant to what they’re doing. You could literally stick any other character in Quantumania or in this show and very little changes. If someone told you in Phase 1-3 there’d be a Loki project you wouldn’t have thought it’d be about Time Cops. Except Kang wasn't in it until the end and a Loki was in nearly every scene, other than that, it wasn't about Loki. If you really did miss my point, Lux and Skaathar’s following posts made it more than clear. But imagine I create a show called “Thor” but instead of using his established lore I feature him solving cozy mysteries in the English countryside. It still stars Hemsworth. It is called Thor. So it is a Thor show, right? This may star Tom Hiddleman as Loki but it’s Loki in name only. It’s LINO Loki.

He's lost his anti-hero/noble-villain personality. His fighting skills have gone down the drain and his magic skills are... inconsistent.

Also, his character arc had already come full circle with his death in Infinity War. This new Loki is stuck in stasis- just kind of there to get people to watch. Bringing him back at all was gratuitous.

I’ve seen the show and said at the time, Tom Hiddleston is playing second banana to his own character. However, Loki is played by multiple actors, so the series is definitely about Loki and not Kang.

Its literally the only DisneyFlix show I liked. And this season looks kinda fun too. So I suppose that’s something.

Majority of these D+ MCU shows feel like an OG character being used simply as a vehicle to usher in a newer replacement. LOKI felt like Hiddleston's Loki was just along for the ride to prop up Sylvie. The Hawkeye series was so blatant about it being more about Kate Bishop that even the opening theme showcased her instead of Clint Barton. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier sounds like it was going to be equally co-led by Bucky and Sam, but as the series progressed Bucky was relegated more and more to a sidekick as the show focused on promoting Sam as the new Captain America. That said, at least the premise and setting of Hawkeye and TFATWS still felt like it matched the characters. LOKI was completely detached from Loki and his lore. There was nothing to connect it to Asgardians or Frost giants, nothing about the 9 realms or pretty much anything mystical. They got a high-fantasy character and dropped him into a sci-fi show. It's like making Legolas the lead in a new Star Wars series.

I mean sure, they can still make it good. With good actors, a good script and a good director you can make almost anything good. But that's like saying you can still enjoy going to a strip bar even if you're blindfolded, as long as you have good drinks and good friends to chat with. There's enjoyment to be had but you're missing out on the experience that the venue truly has to offer. Same is true with this show. Yeah they can make it good but you can replace Loki here with almost any character and it wouldn't really impact the story. The show is wasting the unique potential of Loki's character.

He’s a “real” mythical character that’s a major, if not the major archetype, in most narratives.

Because Loki as he was portrayed in The Avengers is vastly different from the Loki we got in his own series. Which one are you thinking is the archetype?

That he can change up is part of the archetype. You never know which way he will go. The Joker is a Loki, or Trickster, archetype too. An antihero is not a bad hero, his a good villain.
