Columbus was a pacifist compared to the savages that were living here. Happy early Columbus Day. Apparently the native tribes weren't warring, raping and enslaving each other. They were all joining hands singing Kumbaya.

1. How do we really know what Columbus did or didn't do? We were told for YEARS he discovered America and more recently, he supposedly didn't even set for in the U.S.
2. I don't understand the outrage over taking credit away from him if he really didn't discover America. Weird hill to die on.

If Trump gets elected the MSM will suddenly pretend to give a shit about hoards of illegal immigrants pouring over the boarder. The original horde. Tank you, Big Guy, we was runnin’ outta da space in’a Europe. And it took less than 30 years for the horde leaders to figure out where the concentrations of gold were.

It’s still Columbus Day, but some libs want it changed to Indigenous People’s Day, which I wouldn’t be surprised if the federal government did change that to appease the SJWs.

I’m not sure he was a white supremacist, as that concept didn’t even exist then, but he definitely felt he himself was superior to the natives he enslaved. Father Bartolomé de Las Casas, an eye witness to these events, wrote of how disgusted he was with the treatment of the natives by Columbus and his men (and he generally admired Columbus). But if one dislikes Columbus one should also dislike another person who did the same: the Prophet Muhammad. He wiped out the Jews in the Arabian peninsula and ruthlessly enslaved his enemies.

Well, I am not a big fan of Islam either....

Aside from the schools using it as a history lesson opportunity (that, as you correctly pointed out, many of us were taught incorrectly about anyhow), no one GAF about this aside from maybe bitching that post offices and banks were closed. Changing it affects nothing.
