One popular author at school was Sven Hassel. Although I didn’t read any of his books personally. I also read a few of those. In a way these types of books were the forerunners of video nasties and games like Grand Theft Auto, full of sex, violence and all the rest. |

The Flasgman books are great. Top writing full of historical tidbits.Particularly the objectification of women. I do like a bit of the objectification of women

In the end they weren’t that essential but I thought this board was getting too quiet and needed some sex and violence to wake it up.  |

Okay, not trying to be pretentious, but it's true, I read Dostoevsky and James Baldwin in high school - for leisure. At school it was "Vanity Fair" and F Scott Fitzgerald.

Okay, not trying to be pretentious, but it's true, I read Dostoevsky and James Baldwin in high school - for leisure. At school it was "Vanity Fair" and F Scott Fitzgerald. Well done and all that but this is a thread about trashy book covers. |

When I was in prison I remember reading some horrible 1950's book about a princess bride. It had a cheesy cover.
