They didn’t post pics (just noticed that Pauls did post a pic) but kept to the subject being discussed. Lol. You pompous jerk. Has it ever entered your head that sometimes folks post what they want to post, because they can't relate to the specifics of your OP? I skimmed the thread, wasn't aware of your strict guidelines for comment, and posted what I read in high school. Deal with it.

Now Richard Stark’s books were very good. He was an author who also wrote under the name Donald E Westlake but his Richard Stark books were more hard boiled.

I love the special guest appearance by Yul Brynner on this one. He was in the 1958 film so its probably tied in to the release.

Yeah, James Herbert was yuge while I was at school. Never read any of his books myself though. He was no Garth Marenghi! Funnily enough I just watched the movie Willard (1971) which was about killer rats. The Rats is the only book of his read that I read but, in case people start thinking I had high literary standards, I did read far too many Edge books. "Sudden" was the man for me.

Although the Skinhead books were pretty rough the covers were relatively mild. Ah, dear old Richard Allen, covered just about every facet of youth tribes.

Lawrence Block's pulp crime books had some great trashy covers.
