Because the USA is no longer a majority Christian country. He also thinks only Christians should be allowed to greet each other with merry Christmas. Happy holidays, anyone? Why are some people so obsessed with telling other people how they should live their lives? Because Jesus and/or the Bible tells them so.

Unless he is one of those who think Catholics are not Christians, he is surely wrong about the USA no longer being a Christian majority country. Evangelical preachers like Todd Friel and Ray Comfort think that Catholicism is not Christian because it teaches a works and faith gospel, whereas they believe in a salvation by grace alone doctrine. Ray Comfort's channel is full of anti-Catholic videos, one of them is titled "Catholics Come to Christ After Hearing This". I guess maybe not. That's why these types of Christians pretty much do whatever they want, short of absolute sins like murder, rape, incest, adultery, etc. Otherwise, they are no different than non-Christians and/or heathens other than what they believe. But even adultery seems to get a pass with these types of Christians, as long as everyone's in on it and it's not being done clandestinely and without the knowledge of the spouse. So it's not really cheating or adultery. Hence the rising popularity of threesomes, foursomes, moresomes, and orgies among these types of Christians, especially among the family values right-wing GOP MAGA Christians.

Of course you were and still are. Don't be ridiculous. The state is and hopefully will forever remain secular. The country is Christian. It was founded by Christians and the overwhelming majority of its population since the very beginning has always been and still is Christian. To say we're a Christian country simply because of those things is just redefining "Christian country" way down. It would be like my deciding the public high school in my town is a "Christian school" just because most of the faculty and student body are Christians. The label of "Christian" becomes meaningless. To quote America's most public face of Christianity of the 20th century, Billy Graham, when asked if America is a Christian country: "No, we're not a Christian country. We've never been a Christian country. We are a secular country by our Constitution in which Christians live and have a voice."Too bad the rotten apple has fallen far from the more sturdy tree.

It’s like saying because America has majority White population, therefore it is a White nation. The U.S. population is 51.1% female. So, I guess... Well, America is referred to as "she," so...

O_o Because, if they can convince you how to live your life, it validates their choice of how they live their lives. It's really just a form of external validation.

Well, I have some disappointing news for them... Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get ready to sacrifice a virgin to my lord and master, Beelzebub. ;) You wouldn't believe how difficult it is these days to find one. :D

But, also take care not to get caught by the drones forcing all you Aussies inside 24/7 (also according to MAGA). Good luck, Magus!
I remember The Night Rider, and I know who you are!

In the USA, divorces/marriages are handled entirely by the courts, not the churches. One doesn't have to ask permission of a priest/pastor. Just show up in court and pay the fees. One more kick in the ass for the "Christian nation" crowd.

I remember The Night Rider, and I know who you are! My local pizza shop doesn't have a basement. In my youth, I worked at another local pizza shop... and it didn't have a basement either.

No, it's like saying that Brazil and Italy and Poland are Catholic countries, or that Tunisia and Turkey are Muslim countries. Are they? It might be the most popular religion there but are they Catholic of Muslim countries or just Catholic majority or Muslim majority countries? To me a religious country either has a state religion or actively follows religious doctrine in governance.
Call it semantics if you will. I think there is an important distinction between country and government or state. What is a country if not its people and its culture? If the overwhelming majority of the population of a country is Muslim, then I don’t see a problem with saying that it is a Muslim country, even if its laws clearly mandate a separation between mosque and state.
I don’t understand how anyone who is even remotely familiar with Italy can possibly object to referring to it as a Catholic country, even though of course the Italian state is completely secular.

Well obviously they aren't familiar with Italy if they stupidly claim that. Then again, most people, especially on the leftist side of things, tend to be rewriting history to pretend that religion was a minimal part of human existence instead of the most driving force that it actually was/is. For instance, a lot like to pretend the Constitution was written by atheists or nonbelievers, when it was actually written by staunch Christians and a couple Deists.

And we were never a Christian country! He doesn't say in the video that the US is no longer a Christian country, but that Christianity is no longer the majority religion.
