I have never seen the original one with Gene Wilder, only the Tim Burton one with Johnny Depp, but I'll go see this new one over the holidays, sure. Dude watch the one with Gene Wilder. Infinitely superior to anything thsts come after. So another than benefitted from repeat TV showings. This one is nice. It is worth the time. They end with a version of Pure Imagination. It has the fantastical element down pretty well. Grant was better as the asshole Oompa Loompa than I expected.

The original is a children's movie near as good as The Wizard of Oz and Snow White. It's that good. And strangely, holds up just as well. The Tim Burton one was not very good. Agreed. What was missed with the previous versions?

I'd rather see Poor Things. In my case it is a matter of choosing one or the other. I have no real fondness or nostalgia for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I hated it when I was a kid. I couldn't stop thinking about the family's poverty and the whole family lying in the same bed. I watched it when I was older and I actually think it's excellent, but I still don't care about it. It does kind of look like an interesting premise though.

Not interested in this Willy Wokea. Because Slugworth is a black man & some of the cops are black? Why are they black?

Because Slugworth is a black man & some of the cops are black? Why are they black? Why are Oompa Loompas orange? Why are there chemicals in the film that turn people blue & green? It's a fantasy? You are kidding! You gonna complain about Keegan-Michael Key being in the film? I find him entertaining.

Why are Oompa Loompas orange?
Because they make delicious candy that lures children.
Remind you of anyone else? :P

But Donnie wasn't Orange back then. Was he a celebrity in 1971? Actually, we did see other Oompa Loompas on the Island when they banish Lofty for failing to protect the cocoa beans from being taken by Wonka.

He'd have been 25 then
I know he was beginning to be well known by 1980

So he isn't in the 1971 film. The Slugworth in that film is Wonka's employee, remember? As for Wonka Budget $125 million Box office $151.4 million So for now, it is doing well.

I remember. The man wore glasses and had a pockmarked face.
Why is it about $Money with you?
It's a Wonderful Life was a box office flop, too right?
