It is a privately-owned company that doesn't have to answer to stockholders pushing for growth above any other considerations. They decided that they don't want to go with the franchising model so expansion is slow. Also, they don't use frozen food, so any new location has to be within a certain distance from a distribution centre. I didn’t know they didn’t use frozen food and needed distribution centers. That explains why they wouldn’t move into larger cities like Chicago, New York or Boston. Denny's used to be western US only. I don't one opened Buffalo until after 2000.

Has anyone here been to White Castle? That's the one I need to try if I ever go to the East Coast. The people who tell you they like White Castle are the same people who take you snipe hunting. If you watch them, you will see that no one actually eats White Castle stuff. It is not edible. You will just puke it right out. It's that nasty. All of it. The drinks are okay, though. I don't eat meat, but will go first for grilled chicken or any fish. The best fast food to me is Captain D's and their salmon sandwich, but I'm not sure that's really "fast food", since they have baked potato. Long John Silver's has the best fried fish. It doesn't taste near as greasy as the nasty Moby Dick. Moby Dick tastes like you're eating nasty lard. At least Silver has a more liquid grease, and it's tastier. Moby is terrible. KFC has improved over the years. When I was a kid, you couldn't get mashed potatoes without them being ruined by nasty gravy. And there were no other sides. Now, you can get yummy mashed potatoes with no gravy and even green beans that aren't nastified by the meat that nasty places put in green beans. But there is no KFC within 50 miles of my home now. It's actually one of the more balanced meal choices of the fast food places. You can hardly get a decent grilled chicken sandwich any more. I don't know what they did, but MacD and Burger King grilled chicken sandwiches are inedible any more. It isn't my taste buds. It's something that each store did one by one. I think one problem is that they use nasty salad dressing instead of mayo. That totally nastifies it. If I'm stuck somewhere away from home on a Monday (when good diners are all closed), and the only option is fast food or the month old stuff at a Convenient store, I'm opting for fast food, and this is my pecking order. Since pizza is a specialty food, I have two lists. One for pizza, and one for sandwiches. Pizza Hut Domino Papa John The grass on the lawn outside the establishment Forget Little Caesar and their crust that is actually five month old stale bread Captain D's KFC Long John Silver Dairy Queen Wendy's Lee's The grass on the lawn outside the establishment Forget MacDonald, Burger King, White Castle, Moby Dick, Indy, Popeye.

More of a taco truck guy. There's one close to my house, never tried it. After seeing the pics of the food, I'm sure I never will in the future. One has to know the right one.

Well, Ill go with Pizza Hut or Burger King (Hungry Jack's). Does anyone else like Pizza Hut more than Dominos? Domino's came to Portugal recently in 2015 and I have to say, those are some of most disappointing pizzas I ever tasted. So yeah Pizza Hut > Dominos.

Have they still got those?? They were the first burger place in the UK. There was one on Northumberland Street (main shopping street) in Newcastle in the early 80s. I liked it. I think Wimpy took over a lot of the "Joey Lions Corner Houses" (anyone else old enough to remember those? was always a treat to go up west and finish at one)around the end of the 60's and beginning of the 70's. Personally I haven't eaten in a fast food place in over a decade. I wouldn't trust cleanliness with such low wages.

I was going to say Hungry Jacks. IDK about their fries though (what’s up with that? They’re the worst). I haven’t tried Pizza Hut but surely they’re better than Dominos. I mean, I have Dominos occasionally because they’re everywhere and they’re cheap but it’s not good pizza. Any independent pizza place has better pizza. Yeah KFC fries are the best. I used to love the McDonald's ones but theyve changed. Apparently they changed the oil or something? Red Rooster's nuggets are great If you see a Burger Urge near you, try it out. They cook a premium line but keep prices near greasy spoons by using slightly smaller buns and tasty recipes, not just grease. Awesome chips too. Burger Urge appears to be only in country NSW and Qld now but are expanding. FFS Dominos or what? Any pizza joint will beat Dominos. Mr Mozarella used to be OK till they decided to compete with Dominos.

I don't like fast food in the sense you mean, but I sure as hell spend a lot of time and money in my local baker! Whose Cornish pasties, Danish pastries, salted caramel tarts and multifarious other treats ensure that I cook lunch no more than once or twice a week.
