Face/Off is easily John Woo’s best American film. Most of the others are meh. Are you literally mental? Face/Off = dumb Woo shit (like MI2). Fifth Element = brilliant! Starship Troopers = brilliant! Fighting alien bugs on a planet in a future that should have advanced nukes sent from space instead isn't dumb?

It's a relatively nascent planet compared to Earth. Hence, lifeforms are simpler.

2000s to 2023 best years for movies too, can't take anyone seriously who says any year prior to the 60s was the best. 1939 was hands down the greatest year in cinematic history.

Howard the Duck lmao. I loved that as a kid. “Playduck” I remember I learnt what the word “pervert” meant from watching Howard the Duck, which I watched on video at a sleepover. I heard a character say it (Howard himself, maybe?) and then the next day I asked my mum what it meant. hahah

1986 Aliens Big Trouble In Little China Top Gun Labyrinth (hahaha) Highlander A Better Tomorrow Howard The Duck! eh. [giveup] Howard the Duck lmao. I loved that as a kid. “Playduck” Hey...he had guts. Not only did he square off against a dark overlord and prevent an Earth invasion... he also fought in the final battle against Thanos.

I think 1989 might have something to say about that: Licence to Kill Lethal Weapon 2 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Black Rain Tango and Cash Batman Collision Course Road House

I'm not entirely sure fighting the bugs is why they were there.
It had more to do with capturing a certain type of bug.

It had more to do with capturing a certain type of bug. They could have nuked around the certain type of bug or just nuked it instead.
