Wallabies are a horrible team and should have lost last week too. The margin is something of a surprise, but the result: didn't bat an eyelid.

No surprises from this poster about the Wallabies getting hammered either. Barely registered a ripple on my my radar

Dragons making more history. Just a week after our men posted the highest losing score ever by losing 40-44 to Parramatta our women equalled the "feat," losing 34-38 to Canberra. See you next year!

Looks like Hinkley's headed to West Coast next year. Even if they win the premiership, which is fanciful, it would be best for Port to install Josh Carr as soon as their season's over.
Port's drifted out to $3 to win a home final this weekend. What a disappointing team they are. GWS are $1.75 favourites to beat Brisbane. Goodness knows why. Would be surprised if we didn't have two straight set exits this year.

In the wider context of the Southern Rugby Championship it's good to see the Springboks playing like World Champion's and kicking arse. 4 from 4 with only Argentina left. Pumas are going allright too with 2-2. Australia and the All Blacks absolutely miserable on 1-3. Argentina Rugby put up a gag post saying that the SRC would be having a 3rd placed trophy match this year and the trophy would be called the Bledisloe Cup.

In the AFL, Port stunned Hawrhorn by 3 points. Hawks hit the post twice in the last 5 minutes. Only watched the last quarter as Penrith's performance in the league was so compelling. By all reports Port were the better team for most of the night so fair play to them.
3rd time they've met in finals and the margin in each game has been 3 points. If you're a betting man then take note that 12 teams have lost their qualifying final by 50+ and they are 12-0 in the following semi finals.

Jeez Penrith were good. Fair play to the chooks though, didn’t chuck in the towel. However, they aren’t winning the comp. From here they have to beat Dogs/Manly, likely Melbourne then likely Penrith to win the whole enchilada. I just can’t see it….

Giants threw away another final. Wasted season for them. Geelong will easily account for Brisbane and go in warm favourites for whoever they meet in the Grand Final.

Left with 3 of the 4 potential Grand Final match ups pretty unappealing:
Sydney v Geelong- one of the least called for Grand Final rematches ever. Port Adelaide v Geelong- one of the least called for week one finals rematches ever. Port Adelaide v Brisbane- retro if you grew up in the 00s but otherwise meh.
Which leaves the one they'd probably like the most at this point: Sydney v Brisbane. At least the NSW v QLD match up gives them something to market. With no QLD NRL teams particularly in contention they may be able to get some interest up North they wouldn't otherwise. You'd reckon the Cowboys prelim would be that night though if they do beat the Sharks so probably not in that situation.
Geez, having the NRL prelim in Melbourne the night before the AFL Grand Final could be huge.

Sick of hearing about this but may as well make a comment here for posterity. Jack Ginnivan posting "C u in 14 days" on Brodie Grundy's insta post was funny. Ken Hinkley putting on the Port Adelaide wall all week was inevitable. Hinkley saying to Ginnivan "You're not flying anywhere you cheeky little fuck," after the game was also funny. James Sicily trying to staunch Hinkley while he was carrying off 300 gamer Luke Bruest and then complaining the Ken (not James) was taking his moment away was asinine.
The response by former Hawks in the media was also asinine. The highlight was Nathan Buckley grinning at Jordan Lewis and saying "was it thr act or that is done to Hawthorn." Jordan took umbrage with the usual deflections "No no no. That was a terrible thing to do." Says a guy who's captain simulated injecting his arm to Essendon players after the drig scandal. Exemplary behaviour right there. To paraphrase Hinkley "That ain't flying you cheeky little fucks." Ginnivan shot his mouth, couldn't back it up, and had a receipt coming. The end.

On the AFL Finals. Tonight seems pretty clear cut: Port have won 8 in a row over the Swans including 3 at the SCG (2 by wide margins) and smashed Sydney by 112 points just a month ago. Swans win of course. As weird as that sounds I concur with most that Port lost this prelim when they didn't turn up for their home final in week one. And it is weird how many of these long losing streaks end in prelims. Can't bet against the Swans in a home prelim.
In Saturday's game you can mount a decent case for Brisbane as I do think they have a significantly better team than Geelong on paper and I just don't think this Cats team is that good. But I don't trust Brisbane at the MCG. They've won 1 game there in the last decade or so and Geelong just find a way to win games like this.
If Geelong win this they'd have to be unbackable favourites to win the Grand Final given how badly the Swans have played in their last 3 Grand Finals. What a missed opportunity for Port. Take care of their home field and they're probably lining up at a neutral venue against a team they've had the wood over for their last 8 games.

PAP humped.
They almost managed to score 15 points in every quarter 15/15/15/14.
I am Statto.
Surprised Swans were 11/4 on faves.

Cronulla won in an uninspiring game over the Cowboys….26-18.
Unfortunately, based on that performance, Cronulla is going to little more than a speed hump on Penrith!s charge toward the GF and possibly a 4th straight premiership
