The French Open is underway in Paris. 14-time champion Rafael Nadal, in recovery from injuries, had the bad luck of being pitted against #4 seed Zverev on the first round and lost in three sets – the first time since 2008 that he is eliminated in the first round of a clay-court tournament. Djokovic is the top seed but hasn’t been in great form in the clay court season. Carlos Alcaraz, heir apparent to the mantle of best player in the world once Djokovic retires, is seeded #3, but he hasn’t been in top form either.
On the women’s tournament, the #1 player in the world and two-time defending champion Iga Swiatek from Poland has to be the favourite, but she had a scare in the second round when she was one point away from losing to the resurgent Naomi Osaka.

I would have watched Swiatek-Osaka if I hadn't been busy, nothing else has caught my attention yet, but it may do at some point. I lost interest in men's tennis years ago.

Oh no! Not a fan of Djokovic by any means but I don't wish a knee injury on anybody, especially not a professional athlete. I wonder if he will try to come back from it or if he will just call it a day, considering all that he has achieved already.
