And that was the perfect first ball to Smudge. Days gone by he plays back and wrists that through the on side, but his first movement now is always forward.

Labuschagne doing well to stay on crease somehow...once the ball gets older he can start scoring runs.

India will be happy to see the back of Head - their prime tormentor over the last few years.

Well, what a weird day. 17 wickets is the same number we saw on day one of the 2005 Ashes. Very different circumstances as that series both teams had excellent batting line ups on paper that simply disintegrated in front of our eyes. This series both batting line ups look fragile on paper and it's played out that way in the middle.
Some really poor batting from India against excellent Australian bowling. For Australia they just got a lot of good balls on top of consistent excellent line and length. Probably had the wrong mindset with some slow batting from Usmam and Marnus, but Bumrah really is something else. A freak in all formats.

I find it difficult why he is being bashed so much for the innings he played. If he was completely out of touch, he did well to play that many balls before being dismissed. India's batting was to be me exactly as I had pictured it to be. These Indian batsmen have next to no ability to play against any kind of quality bowling. They can only perform on flat tracks on IPL. Pant seems to be be only 1 who can somehow manage to make runs and I predict he will be the main contributor of India in batting. I am predicting 4-0 win for Aussies in this series although it's good to see Indian bowlers making this series more competitive.

Australia bowled well….India is bowling better Watching this test is undeniably exciting, but one can see how much T20 has influenced real cricket for the worse.

Jaiswal shows this dickhead, bringing up a patient 50 (the first of the match) as India sleepwalk away from Australia on an attritional day 2.
Questionable tactics from Australia this morning, crawling along at slightly better than one per over and boring away probably the last really good bowling conditions until day 4 or 5 in the process.
And India have just gone out there, batted for time, and patiently accumulated runs. If they bat for most or all of tomorrow it's very hard to see Australia getting back into this game unless the pitch completely flattens out with no deterioration on days 4 and 5.

India bossing the game now: 218 ahead with 10 wickets in hand. Obviously the plan will be to just bat through the best batting conditions tomorrow into day 4 and then give your well rested attack 4 or 5 sessions to bowl Australia out. Sounds easy on paper but that's why they actually play the games.

Australia’s poor batting display was amplified by how good India batted for two sessions.
The baggy greens are 1000/1 to get a draw, and almost write your own ticket odds to win from here

If the going gets tough you dig in, you do not just flail away.

Mixed day for India in the last couple of sessions. Still miles ahead but some wickets have gone down. Kohli looking good but will probably need to get a move on here if he wants a century. 6 down with Reddy not hanging about.
India would gladly have taken hundreds to Kohli and Jaiswal and 5 fer for Bumrah in the first test without even asking for the score.

Call me a fan boy but that was pretty awesome. 30th test century for King Kohli. Brilliant innings. Junk time runs but if you bat like Reddy and Kohli near the end there it's at least fun.

India are absolute killers. Type of performance we've seen from Australia at home countless times except this time it's happening TO us.
Flailed our bowlers everywhere in searing dry heat and then put tired minds in late on a ground half covered in shadows, put the ball in the right spot and nature took its course.
Runs out there tomorrow for somebody who wants them, but anything better than a 200 run defeat isn't remotely plausible...and getting that close is really pushing credulity.
