Thing is, with "comics" like Gervais ...if you like his type of humor / humour , you can deliberately watch or hear him on assorted media or you can go to his live shows BUT when he is hosting Awards shows and you do not like his "humor" you are left with having to make the decision to either skip the show entirely, mute the sound when he is on or listen to him and fume. Same goes for the likes of one note "comics" like Chris Rock. He’s typical shit-talker comic and using cheap shots at people is an easy way to get laughs. He’s not up to preach a sermon. I like The Office original…which Steven Merchant co-created…but in his other TV shows, he’s never gone much beyond that same nasty, egotistical character. Carell took the same character and made him three dimensional. Mind you, Steve Carell is an actor while Gervais is a comedian who acts. I preferred him in Extras anyway.

You did, "naggy" is such an ironic word given your behaviour yesterday. That struck you as going crazy? How queer. You thought the OP of that thread was hysterical, how queer.

Just stop responding irrationally to threads that warrant nothing more than a smirk and move on. The LGBT social justice warrior isn't a good look on anyone.

I wonder if people ever got worked up over any of the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express promotional events at Kings Cross because that was more or less the same thing.

Once upon a time, it was possible to tell the difference between an Awards Show and a Celebrity Roast...in recent years, not so much. Audience members are now routinely personally targeted for insults and then either have to sit and "laugh at themselves " or get accused later of "not having a sense of humor".

Aren't your offended at everything teenage days behind you now? Harry Potter was promoting LGBT? Or what's the relevance?

Aren't your offended at everything teenage days behind you now? Harry Potter was promoting LGBT? Or what's the relevance? Both are promotional events. In both cases the events are organised by their PR teams, not by the people responsible for safety. The Twitter post hoped as much effort was being put into safety. That struck me as silly but I called it hysterical. That term apparently a few folk and I even admitted that it was a misuse of the word. Fucking hell. I even mock myself in my first reply to this thread and here you are, being a total naggy gossip. I really think you have some serious issues, Mr Lux

They didn't have to attend the awards they could have sent someone on their behalf or done an acceptance speech on Zoom.

I’ve not seen his stand-up except for once and that was before “Woke” bashing became vogue. Like I said, cheap shots. Again, The Office is a landmark TV show…mostly thanks to Steve Carell.
