He said men are the gatekeepers of relationships. I find that an absurd statement. Women really dislike this, but often the men they choose to have sex with do not want relationships with them. They find it humiliating and I can see why, but it's the truth. You assume all women want a relationship or a serious relationship. Or they aren't aware going in the guy is a fuckboi. I don't think you can broad sweep on something that is so damn individual and personal. To say one sex or the other makes those decisions is just silly. For most of history, women depended on men for their livelyhood. They had no choice but to marry, or be spinsters in the care of their families. In the first world, this has changed. Women have more say in who and when they marry, or if they marry at all. These decisions are now a joint-process. Some men don't like it. That's some tough damn titty tgey're just gonns have to suck up. It's not going back to the way it was. Women got the vote in 1920, and we've been slowly but making sure our daughters and granddaughters would always he able to take care themselves, and do it well, ever since. At 47, I could already be remarried since my husband I split 7-years-ago. I'm not sure if I even want to live with anyone again. I kind of feel like I might be all set. It's not that I don't enjoy the company of men, but I don't need to co-habitate anymore. I'm sure there will come a time when I stop attracting men my own age and +/- a few years. That's okay too. Eventually my estrogen will dry up and I won't care about weekend company anymore either. You don't make the decision for anyone. She makes the decision for herself, as all women now have the freedom to do. |

I'm too old for that. And it would require too much work than I'm willing to put in. I'm more of a serial monogamist. But I have worked with younger women who do this.
