Exactly. The more promiscuous women become, the less men want to "settle down" with them. We can see this even more pronounced in the Christian communities where women are encouraged not to do so, and have by far higher marriage rates and childbirth rates. I didn’t watch the video, but to answer the question, yes. Girls are trained from a young age that their “virginity” is supposed to be a gift to their male partners. Boys aren’t taught that. Girls are made to sign “purity pledges” to to their fathers, which is really sick. Virginity is used to oppress women and girls. I'm curious, and I figured I'd use the opportunity to ask instead of look it up. What exactly is a purity pledge?
It sounds self-explanatory, like a pledge of purity, but what actually is it? Is it a Christian thing?

It's definitely rooted in insecurity, but most things with regard to mating are. Women's desire for strong and capable men to love them is rooted in female insecurity. I don't understand what there is to make fun of. If it's his choice, it's his choice, although I'm not above speculating there's some grooming going on in there. I could see making light of the pledge, but not him for signing it. Not if he was a kid and made to think it was legally binding or something. But it seems like he found his life on terms that were either his or that he made his, so good for him.
