First one was OK, very.....whats the word? Can't think of it.
Completely in it's time, culturally, musically, and topically. Stylistic.
And, yes, the car crash aspect, unfortunately.
Lots of rubbernecking at the Brandon Lee tragedy.

It's a tired and cliched choice...but I guess I wouldn't be opposed to Michael B. Jordan playing him. I'm trying to think who would be good for Violator, maybe Bill Skarsgard? Or maybe they could just bring back John Leguizamo, he did a pretty good job in the 90s film. |

Well, they keep doing it for money from name recognition and nostalgia. I don't know. I was never a big fan of The Crow to begin with. It just looks, from the shots, that it's trying to tap into Jared Leto's Joker which is not a good sign. If you don't like it it's because you are either a boomer or a millenial. But I forgive you. I saw it in the theater, saw it several times after, and still think it's hard to like. Mainly for Brandon Lee's god awful acting. Such a detractor. |

When it came out in 1994 it was a sort of generational film for Gen X. It had a grunge-ish soundtrack that was massive and a great visual design and look from Alex Proyas. I’ve seen it so many times I can quote it, although it’s been a long time. Plus you can't go wrong with Michael Wincott as a villain: "Greed is for amateurs. Disorder, chaos, anarchy: now that's fun!" Why?
Michael Wincott is just meh and his voice is annoying. |
