4/10
Meadowland (Freevee)
IMDB rating: 5.8
The film really opened up in 2nd and 3rd act, thought it started it out somewhat oddly, but if you stick with it, kinda builds and becomes worthwhile. Both Wilde and Ribisi are really good in this and i thought the dialogues and overall script was pretty potent.
7/10Empire REcords (Dir. ) via Hulu
6.7 - Rewatch
One of my favs, had to run it back-
8/10Moghiman-e Na-koja (Dir. Shahab Hosseini) via . Starring Shahab Hosseini, Arman Darvish, Parinaz Izadyar
6.4
Shahab Hosseini’s film takes on a tough subject matter, especially with restrictions in Iran on religion, i felt it was very compelling. A man arrives in an unknown place and meets several others who seem to have arrived with just as little as information. With great performances from the entire cast and some very solid cinematography and set design, it shows both the growth of Iranian cinema, but also the benefits of films that have Shahab Hosseini involved behidn the scenes. -
8/10Officer Stanley (Dir. Scottie Cameron ) via
Cinequest Film Festival Screener (Short - min)- Starring Jimi Simpson
Creative and hilarious -

BA (Dir. Benjamin Wong ) via Cinequest FIlm Festival Screener - Starring
Benjamin Wong’s creative sci-fi/drama has some very potent emotional scenes and dialogues, as well as an intriguing story. IT could have been edited a bit more, and the pacing seemed odd during second act, however its a worthwhile watch. I can see this film finding some distribution. Lawrence Kao’s performance is noteworthy and one of the best I’ve seen during this year’s festiv al.
7/10Breathless (HBO Max, Criterion)

5.5/10Walking Fernando (Dir. ) via Cinequest Film Festival Screener - (Short - )
7.5/10Poor Things (Dir. Yorgos Lanthimos) via Google Play rental - Starring Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Rami Youssef, Willem Dafoe
What an absolutely bizzarre but entertaining, emotional and thought-provoking of a film. Yorgos does it again, with a great cast, really enjoyed everyone’s performances but especially Mark Ruffalo. -
9/10Another Day in America (Dir. Emilio Mauro) via Cinequest Film Festival Screener
Mauro's film uses black comedy and other tactful strategy to tell a powerful story. Packed with some of the best performances I've seen this year at Cinequest (especially Alexis Knapp and Paul BenVictor), the script is potent and clever, and the payoff is interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed this film as it was unnerving, challenging, tested my anxiety, but very necessary.
