Fuck the tv coverage. So the Matildas looked like being bundled out of the womens soccer after a 3-0 drubbing by Germany. Zambia was a hope except for being 5-2 down 10 minutes into the 2nd half. After 3 substitutes they finally managed 6-5 and only Team USA with their new coach Emma Hayes to go. But as there were no Australians in it, no need to broadcast the USA Germany game which went 4-1. I confidently expect there will be no tv of the climbing final because there will be no Australians. It’s like that in the U.K. too. The BBC is far too chauvinistic. |

Soccer isn'tpopular in Oz, so the programmers wouldn't have thought that people who follow soccer might want to see the team Australia plays next. The broadcaster also hustles specific sports fans to pay for the less popular competitions. |

The triathlon event has been postponed because of bad water quality on the Seine. There is a possibility that it will become a duathlon instead, without swimming. I guess it is too late for a Plan B at Cannes or something.

Can they beat NZ in the final?
Australia were all over Canada in the first half too.
Australia had a player called Paki .. which I though was a bit racist!

Big upset in the Women’s rugby 7’s as Canada knock out France in the quarters and then Australia in the semis. Can they beat NZ in the final? Australia were all over Canada in the first half too. Australia had a player called Paki .. which I though was a bit racist! I saw the quarterfinals last night, obviously on tape delay, but since I didn't know the result beforehand it was still quite exciting. Great that they beat Australia in the semis. A silver medal is nothing to scoff at!
