It's pretty simple. First off, he ran as a Republican. That in itself makes him evil in the minds of many leftists. But in Trump's case.... there was far more. He was a lightning rod for attention. He has a massive ego and the media knows he brings in the ratings. Now, the job of media is for viewers...NOT truth. So, they play upon the fears and ignorance of their target audience. And the left in the west today is almost entirely emotional based. Because of this, they are VERY easy to fall prey for pretty much any narrative. So... the outlets bring up story after story about him being evil top to bottom (despite many of them liking the guy (which they often deny) in the past) and their audience eats it up. While it gets ratings/revenue, it also warps the (admittedly) juvenile minds who still are naive enough to believe the media in this day and age.
Truly.. if you compare most of the criteria to measure a president (foreign policy, the economy, energy policy, inflation, national security (border), etc).. Trump has scored higher than most recent presidents. In light of this, the resistance to him is emotional based...not intellectual. Some contend its because he succeeded and did so opposing their ideology so that really angered them further. At the end of the day, its safe to say its a varying combination of these factors.

For starters - I'm not a 'lib' as you say, like a slur.
The primary reason I, as someone from a very heavily invested and strategically aligned nation to the USA completely dislike Trump is that he is a narcissistic buffoon with the mentality of a spoiled child. The fact he so brazenly lies, and then not only does he regularly get caught lying, he then doubles down - makes him a dangerous person in such a position of responsibility.
The epitome of his bravado was his speech at the UN - when he boldly (and exceedingly inaccurately) claimed that “My administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” and was surprised by the laughter as a reaction. He subsequently claimed that he intended it as a joke, but then claimed again about his 'accomplishments' in a serious tone.
The fact is, many of Trump's 'accomplishments' are either exaggerated claims, complete falsehoods or worse, outcomes from policies that can only be attributed to the previous administration.

Libs? Millions of conservatives also don't like him. Republicans in congress don't like him. Hell, even Tucker Carlson and most of Fox News can't stand him and what you've seen on air has been an act. He's disliked because he's simply all about him and immature as hell. He can't step outside of himself for even a minute.
But he has a cult of idiot voters behind him, and THAT is what right-wing media and the GOP is afraid of losing. That is what they bend over backwards for.

'He has a massive ego and the media knows he brings in the ratings'
'Now, the job of media is for viewers...NOT truth.'. 'So, they play upon the fears and ignorance of their target audience. And the left in the west today is almost entirely emotional based'
What? You've just described the Right to a tee.... Not the 'left'.....
'Because of this, they are VERY easy to fall prey for pretty much any narrative.' MAGA's and QANON's were convinced JFK was going to be 'resurrected', among other completely outlandish conspiracy theories.....
'So... the outlets bring up story after story about him being evil top to bottom (despite many of them liking the guy (which they often deny) in the past) and their audience eats it up.' So news outlets are not supposed to make articles about the things he says and does - even if they are truly "evil" ? Really ?
'While it gets ratings/revenue, it also warps the (admittedly) juvenile minds who still are naive enough to believe the media in this day and age.' You've literally just described MAGA and QANON.
'Truly.. if you compare most of the criteria to measure a president (foreign policy, the economy, energy policy, inflation, national security (border), etc).. Trump has scored higher than most recent presidents.' Trump is genuinely considered a worse president than George W. Bush, and that is saying something. Most of the things you listed, USA actually went backwards, despite Trump's best efforts.
'In light of this, the resistance to him is emotional based...not intellectual.' Most political historians, you know, intellectuals, have Trump in the worst 5 Presidents of all time.
'Some contend its because he succeeded and did so opposing their ideology so that really angered them further.' And these people are called Trump supporters, who despite significant evidence to the contrary, contend he is the saviour of America akin to the second coming of Jesus Christ.

You're going to have a massive ego and be a narcissist if you're running for United States President. Trump's personality is within the job he applied for. A monk is having nothing to do with that job.

"This is some of most hypocritical shit I've read in a while. 'He has a massive ego and the media knows he brings in the ratings' 'Now, the job of media is for viewers...NOT truth.'. 'So, they play upon the fears and ignorance of their target audience. And the left in the west today is almost entirely emotional based' What? You've just described the Right to a tee.... Not the 'left'....." That's just a reflex due to defensiveness. Granted you might not be able to see it. We often are blind to our tendencies because we lack objectivity. Think of it as having a friend in a toxic relationship. You can see it very clearly because you're on the outside looking in. But your friend isn't hearing any of it no matter how much reasoning you give him/her. The modern left is pretty much as perfect example of this from a political standpoint. Even before the guy took office... the irrational fear caused many of them to scream up the sky, claim all matter of calamities, *resist*, *not my president*, therapy sessions in schools, TDS being a diagnosis, people wanting to leave the country, and had a perpetual tantrum for over 6 years now. There hasn't really been a counterpoint to this observation....just denial. And.. learn what hypocrisy is before you use it next time. I haven't displayed any hypocrisy and didn't even vote for the guy in 2016 and made points when he screwed up. His opposition otoh... are too blinded by irrational anger to acknowledge any of his successes. "'Because of this, they are VERY easy to fall prey for pretty much any narrative.' MAGA's and QANON's were convinced JFK was going to be 'resurrected', among other completely outlandish conspiracy theories....." There wasn't a large percentage who believed in a resurrection of JFK or pizzagate.....lol. But a large percentage believed in the Mueller report, then golden showers, then collusion, then he orchestrated 1/6, etc. And when one theory fell apart... no reflection....they just moved unto the next like good lemmings. "'So... the outlets bring up story after story about him being evil top to bottom (despite many of them liking the guy (which they often deny) in the past) and their audience eats it up.' So news outlets are not supposed to make articles about the things he says and does - even if they are truly "evil" ? Really ?" Ahh but there's a catch there you might have missed. The media is certainly supposed to report what he says and does. The caveat is though... how do they present it?.... what narrative do they sell to their audience for ratings? What spin do they put on a simple story? It's no secret most outlets put a negative presentation. But you see, if someone was predisposed to being so gullible as to take the media at face value, they wouldn't be able to discern that what they were being told was an obscure, agenda-driven narrative. And it worked! They fooled a bunch of lefties and hit ratings gold for years. 'While it gets ratings/revenue, it also warps the (admittedly) juvenile minds who still are naive enough to believe the media in this day and age.' You've literally just described MAGA and QANON." Some might claim that and sometimes its the truth. There are some nuts in MAGA. But since its a disproportionately small amount compared to their counterparts, the original contention is still far more accurate. "'Truly.. if you compare most of the criteria to measure a president (foreign policy, the economy, energy policy, inflation, national security (border), etc).. Trump has scored higher than most recent presidents.' Trump is genuinely considered a worse president than George W. Bush, and that is saying something. Most of the things you listed, USA actually went backwards, despite Trump's best efforts." I know some people claim that but those are without merit. Better economy, more secure border, lower poverty, massive gain in investments, better energy policy, NK progress, no new major conflicts, peace deals in the Middle East, got Nato to pay more, no Russian expansion, prison reform, VA reform, No Obamacare mandate, more home ownership, etc. The denial of said overall successes is really only in the minds of a few emotional kids. This lends more credibility to my initial claim as the perception of being a bad president cannot be linked therefore to policy/results as they were superior to most over the past several decades. "'In light of this, the resistance to him is emotional based...not intellectual.' Most political historians, you know, intellectuals, have Trump in the worst 5 Presidents of all time." Then they're not intellectuals . I just gave a listing of how he exceeded most current presidents. As I stated, the majority of his resistance was mostly emotional as opposed to intellectual. Heck, even this thread is speaking in generalities about the guy. Now, if there was a stronger counter-point... it has yet to be presented. So..he was worse than internment camp presidents? Worse than presidents who didn't oppose slavery? Worse than presidents who oversaw/caused recessions? Worse than a new Vietnam or other wasteful conflict? Intellectuals, huh? "'Some contend its because he succeeded and did so opposing their ideology so that really angered them further.' And these people are called Trump supporters, who despite significant evidence to the contrary, contend he is the saviour of America akin to the second coming of Jesus Christ."" Anyone believing Trump to be Christ is crazy. Anybody believing he's the anti-Christ is likewise just as crazy. The latter was more prevalent on the left.
