Yes, it was compelling. You might remember the scene where Matthew Modine yells at the head of the blood industry for not even trying to screen blood donors. "How many dead hemophiliacs do you need? A hundred? A thousand? Give us a number so we won't annoy you until you start spending more money on LAWSUITS than on saving people." Yes!!!!! That was perhaps the most pivotal part. I also took note of the scene where the board denied screening due to cost and one of the few dissenters added... when doctors start acting like businessmen.. who can the people turn to for doctors? Exactly correct! You did pay attention! I've seen that movie many times, as I knew several people that died in that original outbreak period.

Okay. So he's part of the minority in how people catch AIDS. Statistically speaking, he probably shared the needle with a gay person. And yes, as I cited, straight sex has a 2% chance of transmission but anal sex has 20% transmission rate. Guess which one the gays are having? And much more frequently and promiscuously I might add. How do you know that sharing needles is a minor way that people catch AIDS? If you would read the book I recommended to you, you would find that in retrospect, scientists postulated that the outbreak in the USA STARTED with IV drug use on the East Coast, which overlapped into the gay community. The media back then didn't cover how many drug addicts died of AIDS, they just reported that drug addicts were dying. Back then, they didn't even have a test available for the virus; not until hemophiliacs and transplant patients started being diagnosed did the blood industry even consider testing because the Hepatitis test wasn't 100% accurate. By the way, anyone who shares a needle, shares it with everyone that the other person ever shared a needle with. Just like unprotected sex. Both gay and straight. You just won't rest until you have made it known to the world that sinful homosexuals are the reason AIDS exists, which in reality is false, but again, you simply have your bible-thumping agenda. Sin!!!! Homosexuals!!! AIDS!!! God's Mighty Wrath!!!! NO. Infectious disease transmission of a virus. Science. Epidemiology. Evolution. Facts. Observable, testable, repeatable... I know because of the health stats. Sharing needles is very risky and should never be done. I agree. Also, I read that book in high school. We read it along "Guns, Germs, and Steel". And yeah, I realize how STDs work. And unprotected butt sex and multiple partners are the two biggest factors in catching them. Never said that they deserve to get AIDs or that they're the reason it exists, but they are the biggest spreaders of it by far in the West. It's just a fact that they do at a much, much higher level of transmission due to science. Sorry if that upsets you.

It's just a fact that they do at a much, much higher level of transmission due to science. Sorry if that upsets you. The book I recommended is "The Coming Plague: Emerging Diseases in a World out of Balance" by Laurie Garrett. I am not familiar with the book you mentioned. Actually, because of first world medical advances, the United States has dropped in the number of transmissions. But it spreads unchecked in third world countries, primarily heterosexual sex and blood transfusions, since most African medical clinics can't screen for HIV. It's either save the anemic kid right now with a blood transfusion, and take the risk that it's contaminated, or let the kid die. The kid might gain a few more years of life with the transfusion. And there are now treatments that extend the lives of people with the disease and vaccinations that lessen transmissibility. Science has actually cured two men of HIV/AIDS with a bone marrow transplant from a donor who has a CCR5 Delta 32 genetic mutation, that essentially kills the virus in that individual. It's risky, costly, and I've not heard of any subsequent instances, but some people are genetically resistant to HIV because of this genetic mutation. That was not known at the time the book was published, but Google "CCR5 Delta 32 genetic mutation" and read what comes up on the screen. It's the result of science, not religion.

Think positive. People used to believe cigarettes were healthy and we still survived. I sadly think we are beyond saving. America will fall, eventually. We are what now? 33 trillion in debt? 34? I'll fully admit, don't tell me. I'd rather be blissfully ignorant. This society is beyond done for. It's over. I have to accept... 1. PEOPLE are this dumb 2. We live in the matrix with NPCs. I went with 2. It's atleast easier for me to accept. Life going on without us. Hopefully.

Compared to the straight who doesn’t???? Correct. The aids and drug use rate is many times higher in gay men. All based on what anecdotal data?

The stats don't bear that out. We don't have 22 times the rate.
Yes, in Africa and Asia, HIV is more prevalent among heterosexuals than homosexuals.
Cool. I don't live in Africa or Asia, though I suspect that many of those so-called straight people with AIDS are having gay sex and claiming to be straight as it's illegal to be gay in those countries. In the West, AIDS is way more common among gay men, as is suicide and drug abuse. Why would this not magically be the case in other countries?
Smear propaganda, because you are bigoted.

Smear propaganda, because you are bigoted. So now the facts are bigotry? Look, I don't know where you get off pretending that AIDS and substance abuse isn't a big problem in the gay community, but they are.
