I only saw Nicho miss the kick. Too busy doing something else….
On replay, that Hammer try is simply awesome ! The Ch9 commentary really doesn’t do it any justice though…..

There's horrible defence and missing tackles and then there's having an opponent so fast and powerful that they make you miss. Hammer's try was certainly in the latter category. I can understand not getting too excited by this one. The most vanilla of the Sydney teams v a QLD team with no history (or even a geographical reference in their name) but this one was a lot of fun. Even moreso because I didn't care who won.

A disappointing night in the NRL with Canberra and Brisbane both failing to fire a shot before they were already down 22-0 to the Cowboys and Bunnies respectively.
In the AFL Brisbane hosted St Kilda in a game that was far better than it had any right to be. Brisbane winning by 20 points as St Kilda cleared 100 points for what feels like the first time all year.
Should also mention that Christian Petracca was still in ICU as late as Friday and almost lost his spleen after copping an accidental knee on a marking contest. Looks like his season is over.

Black and Gold Never Fold !!
Back at their spiritual home - Wests Tigers defeat a very poor Gold Coast 18-10 !
I, for one, believe all is right and good in the world, at least for a week…

Collingwood came from 54 points behind to beat the Kangas ahead of the bye. Really looked like North should have got a 50m penalty and a set shot on goal late. But meh. They got two really good looks after that and just didn't take their shots.
Dragons lose at Brookvale. Penrith beat Newcastle and the Gints defeated Port in spite of a god-awful 9.19 in front of goal.

Our kids know how to beat QLD too. 14-10 in the fellas and 46-4 in the Sheilas.
We can only hope...

Holy shit! The Titans just beat NZ 66-6! Brisbane beat Port by 79 in Adelaide. Lions could well be coming for a finals spot and I'd by very surprised if Port didn't go public with a Hinkley/ Josh Carr succession plan very shortly. Kenny should not have been re-signed, let alone given a 3 year deal.

Just got back from a rain sodden Accor having seen Souths out-bore Manly 14-0.
All I can say is, free ticket and free transport made it bearable. If I had to pay for that tripe in the rain, I’d be well annoyed.
Off to Campbelltown tomorrow - not quite the 9th wonder of the world, but it’s not a bad little stadium. Unfortunately it’s in the middle of bumfuck nowhere….

Tigers win 2 on the spin…..
Great afternoon of entertainment.
It was amazing to see how nervy all the WT fans got at 42-24 with about 10 to go.

NSW set up a decider with a 34-0 first half blitzkrieg. A lot of talk about a soft sin binning in the 2nd half which I haven't seen as of yet.

If anyone has any doubt at all about referees in the NRL ‘managing’ teams back into games in the second half should watch last nights game. Queensland, down 34-0, got not only every 50/50 call, but a handful of imaginary ones too as Klein found 7 straight NSW infringements to gift The Maroons a generous leg up.

The ladies go down. Completely outclassed. So close to wrapping it up in 2, but way off the mark in game 3.

Utter gash from Collingwood, though injuries to Quaynor and Mihocek hampered rotations and blah blah blah. Carlton really are in the box seat to win the flag now given Sydney's last three grand final "efforts" in Melbourne. And Essendon looking like a top 4 team too. Please anyone but those two!
Panthers got back on track with a good win in Brisbane. The Sharks continued their slide with a God awful first 60 minutes against the Titans which cost them the game (as it really should). Nicho Hynes has just lost all confidence since SoO. The same thing happened with Ben Hunt back in 2018 after having a shocker for QLD. Bulldogs continue to look good and well on their way to returning to being a serious contender in the next couple of years.
The Dragons are paying a very generous $4.10 to beat the Roosters this Sunday so Copa America and MotoGP it is!

Jesse Hogan just single handedly sunk Carlton in a classic. Gints coming from 39 behind to lead by 36 at one stage and eventually Hood on by 12.
Kangas beat Gold Coast (their away form is bad comedy) while Port thrashed the Bulldogs and Geelong snapped a long losing run by flogging Hawthorn to snap a 5 game winning run.
Thrillers in the league with Manly and the Bulldogs winning in golden point. Storm/ Tigers was entertaining if nothing else.

Eagles sack their premiership coach Adam Simpson in his 11th season. In the meantime Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley looking good to start his 13th season next year having never taken them to a Grand Final.
