…‘80s and later children wouldn’t understand.
For example:
Don’t touch that dial This is where I came in

I wonder if kids today would understand what it means to "roll down a window"?

I wonder if kids today would understand what it means to "roll down a window"? They might have or come up with their own definitions.

I wonder if kids today would understand what it means to "roll down a window"? They might have or come up with their own definitions. Yeah, but that refers to old cars without automatic windows. I'm trying to think of my last car with roll down windows. I can't remember if my '81 Mustang had them or not.

"Missed it by that much." A "Get Smart" catchphrase. Another one I hear frequently from retail clerks is "Sorry about that." They use it not knowing it's from an almost 70-year-old TV show. (Full phrase: "Sorry about that, Chief" but the shortened version was mostly used by people in their real life.)

I will accept that gold star, Amy.
