Another hat trick for Bautista in WorldSBK. He's now won 14 out of 15 races and sits more than 80 points clear of Toprak in the standings. In the Nascar, Ryan Blaney finally got his first race win of the season at the Coca Cola 600 and Kyle Busch picked up his 3rd win of the year from pole a week later. Fun IndyCar race in Detroit with some nice duels at the front. Poor Pato failed to finish again. In the F1 Verstappen won again in Spain, increasing his lead over Pérez who finished 3rd. What is now a rare podium for Hamilton who finished 2nd. Perez finished 4th.
Le Mans has been a bit chaotic all day and now there is also rain.
LOL switched Le Mans on for a few minutes after the soccer and saw three of the favourites crash (a Ferrari, a Puegot and a Toyota) in the space of 5 minutes! Pecco won the MotoGP Italian sprint race to extend his points lead to 4 over Marco Bezzechi who finished 2nd.

Bagnaia wins the Grand Prix comfortably from Jorge Martin. Ducati 1-2-3-4 after a 1-2-3-4-5 in the sprint race and the reigning Italian world champion win in Italy. That's a very tidy week for Italian motorcycling.
Martin Truex wins the Sonoma Grand Prix in the Nascar from Kyle Busch. KB has 8 top 5s and is looking like you can pencil him in for the Final Four. Still, playoffs are a different beast.

Martin wins the MotoGP sprint race in Germany from Pecco and Miller.
Usually wouldn't mention the Oz touring cars but notable race in Darwin with Cam Watters engine catching on fire while leading. Some frightening on board footage when you can see Cam in his smoke filled trying to steer the car into the run off as the fire actually enters the passenger side of the car after getting around the engine's fire wall. Mark Winterbottom won the race, his first win in 7 years and 39th in total.

Brilliant race in the MotoGP with Martin holding off Pecco by about half a bike length. Lead changed twice in the last 5 laps. Just a great race. Zarco was 3rd. Martin is now only 16 points adrift of Pecco in the title race. Bezzechi was 4th and sits 32 points behind Pecco. Tight title race. They're all Ducatis. Moto3 was also excellent with Deniz Oncu picking up his maiden win catching Sasaki on just about the last corner. Acosta had a dominant win in Moto2.
Looked like Verstappen was heading for an easy win when I flicked on the F1...and promptly flicked it off.

Well, in happier news, reigning Australian Touring Cars Champion Shane Van Gisbergen won a Nascar race on the first attempt after getting a wild card entry into the Chicago Road Race.
So, after saying for years Australian touring cars is an elite competition that should draw more international attention, our last two champions Scott McLaughlin and SVG are doing very well for themselves in the US.

MotoGP returns with one of the great Grand Prix races. Aleix Espargo catching Bagnaia in the final sector of the last lap and holding him off on the straight to pick up his second career win. Aleix, Brad Binder, Mavrick Vinales and Miguel Oliveira were constantly exchanging 2nd place for most of the race.

A week later on MotoGP, but Pecco won both races in Austria. KTM finished second in every class of their home race. Binder in the premier class and world champion elect Pedrosa in the 2s.

And Verstappen equals Seb's record fir consecutive Grand Prix wins (9) and his 3rd in a row in his native land. Both open wheel series I follow have been rather one sided this year with Palou being so dominant in IndyCar. Bikes have been one sided too with Ducati dominant in both MotoGP and SBK and the main factory driver way better than the #2 man.
Thankfully the touring cars have been closer with Erebus Racing leading their David v Goliath battle with Red Bull Triple 8 in the Oz V8s and Nascar specifically set up to end in a winner take all finale with different drivers dominant on road courses and ovals and the lottery that is the Super Speedway events.

Alex Palou is officially the IndyCar champion, Scott Dixon has also wrapped up 2nd place.
In NASCAR, Kyle Larsson booked his place in the last 12 with a win in Darlington. Denny Hamlin the big casualty of race one. He finished 14th of the 16 playoff drivers after leading for 177 laps following a pit lane penalty. He can't afford any mistakes in the next two races.
In the Motos Pecco Bagnaia somehow survived a scary high side while leading the Catalunya Grand Prix. Brad Binder ran over his leg but the lucky bastard only had lacerations and no breaks. Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro swept the weekend. His team mate Mavrick Vinales grabbed second. Martin, Bezzechi and Binder weren't able to make meaningful ground on Pecco's points lead. The defending Champion is still more than one race weekend ahead.

In the WorldSBK Razcatioglou closed to with 55 points of Bautista after the Spaniard experienced mechanical problems in Race One in France.
In the MotoGP Sprint Race, Jorge Martin shaved 5 points off Pecco's World Championship lead, holding off Bezzechi to win. Bezzechi and Pecco were both riding injured.
