MotoGP just doesn't want to settle down this year. Bastianini, fresh off losing his factory Ducati seat to Marc Marquez, does the sprint/ GP double at Silverstone to close within 50 points of new championship leader Jorge Martin, who was second in both races. Pecco didn't finish the sprint and was 3rd in the Grand Prix and now trails Jorge by 3 points.

Toprak collects a hat trick at Portimao to extend his lead in the WorldSBK to 96 points. Bautista had the pace to win Race One but couldn't recover from a poor start where he fell back to 15th. He also looked like winning race Two until coming off his bike while jostling with Toprak for the lead with 5 laps to go.

Pecco Bagnaia takes the lead in the MotoGP with two wins in Austria. Martin stayed right on his heels with 2 second places to cut the lead to just 5 points. Bastianini stayed 3rd in the title race with two podiums. Marc Marquez crashed out of 2nd in the sprint and claimed a lonely 4th on Sunday. KTM having a miserable time in their home race with a 4th in the sprint for Jack Miller and a 5th in the Grand Prix for Brad Binder their best results.

Scary crash in MotoGP with Pecco Bagnaia caught under Alex Marquez's bike as it slid along after contact when they were fighting for 3rd. He walked away from it and Martin takes a 23 point lead after a double podium. Pedro Acosta inherited 3rd after the incident.
Marc Marquez was untroubled doing the sprint/ podium double: his first Grand Prix win in 3 years.

What an insane ending to Azerbaijan race! Always going to end in tears once a third car got involved in the race for 2nd. Great win to Oscar. Also congrats Alex Palou who won his third IndyCar title in the last 4 years. Will Power let a golden opportunity slip last week and was never in the finale after having to pit on the 12th lap. Colton Herta won the race to leapfrog Will into 2nd. Fun season with the title coming down to the final race.

Wild season continues in MotoGP with Pecco crashing out of the Nissano Grand Prix to hand Martin a 24 point lead in the championship. This was after Martin gifted Pecco 20 points the previous weekend when he pitted to change to a wet weather bike unnecessarily.
WorldSBK has tightened right up due to runaway leader Toprak missing the last two weekends. Rookie Nicolo Bulega closing within 13 points after trailing by 90. His progress has been hurt by Toprak's BMW team mate Michael Van der Mark winning race one two weekends ago and a random hat trick of victories by the previously winless Danilo Petrucci last weekend. Petrucci became only the 4th rider to sweep a weekend.

I think Mexican Grand Prix was just about the race fans want to see. Max has the title this year again but great to see so many talented drivers in formula-1.

Congratulations to Joey Logano on winning his 3rd Nascar Cup Series Championship, holding off Ryan Blaney on the final lap at Phoenix. There is something to be said for having a Championship race. Always unpredictable and exciting. On the downside it doesn't award consistency.
Congratulations also to Will Brown for winning the Oz Touring Cars for the first time, securing the title with a race to spare.

Congratulations Jorge Martin: MotoGP World Champion! First independent rider to win it in 23 years. Twice passed over by Ducati for a factory seat, he followed up a 2nd with a year old bike last year with a championship this year, he'll be taking the "1" plate to Aprilia next year. Aleix Espargaro finishes his GP career riding wingman for his great friend Martin, holding off the field, to help him win the title.
32 podiums across the season trumping Pecco's 18 wins.
