I’ve been over that bridge many times when I lived in Maryland. I doubt many of the people crossing the bridge at that time survived.
Can you imagine how that feels?
Funny thing, I had a friend who lived on the other side of the Key Bridge and he has that phobia of going across bridges. He couldn’t drive on them or he would seize up and panic. When we would hang out I would have to go across it to him or his late wife would have to drive him across to me. To make it over he’d have to take a Xanax. He lives in Delaware now so I’m sure the news of this will only make his phobia worse…and in his mind justified. I’ll have to text him today. |

Infrastructure? Who cares! This country is going to hell in a hand basket. There was nothing wrong with the bridge's infrastructure. It's not like it collapsed on its own. I doubt you could construct a bridge that could survive such an impact. |

lol I’m debating whether or not to be nice. He wouldn’t care but I know he’s terrified by this news. I doubt he crosses a bridge again. He’s also scared of airplanes. When he travels in the US he takes a train. He took a boat to Europe once but that’s about it for international traveling, unless you count driving to Canada. |

Conspiracies are already coming out. Given that the ship appeared to lose power before hitting the bridge, some are suggesting that the ship was hacked.
Naturally, George Soros and Hillary Clinton are the prime suspects.

He'd really enjoy the Mackinac Bridge then? It has grates you can see down to the water........and they employ people just to drive your car across for you.
We have a somewhat high bridge here Tower Drive/Leo Frigo.........it's OK most of the time, but in the Winter? it's scary sliding downhill on a curve with ice...........or anytime on a motorcycle as the wind gusts on top can move you into the next lane.

I would say this: the suspension towers are usually pretty strong, really designed to take hits, within reason. Not here though. |
