It's crazy that a bridge could collapse like that. It looks flimsy in the photo but unless ships are getting heavier you'd think bridges would be designed to withstand this type of event. Bridges are built to hold cars and trucks, not be rammed be cargo ships. I’m betting that there are meetings being planned all around the world to ensure this doesn’t happen again. |

Wow! I initially assumed that the ship was too tall to pass under the bridge, but it is much worse than that. How the hell did that happen? I have never steered a boat that wasn’t powered by pedals or oars, but I can’t imagine it would be so hard for a professional boat driver person to avoid hitting a pillar. Probably as hard as to avoid hitting an iceberg. It's possible. And provides an opportunity for James Cameron to make a good movie. |

You can see it went dark twice before impact........but it's odd how it swerved just as it reached the bridge
