I'm glad that this is what it took to get everyone to agree it's time to send Ukraine billions more American dollars.

Conspiracies are already coming out. Given that the ship appeared to lose power before hitting the bridge, some are suggesting that the ship was hacked. Naturally, George Soros and Hillary Clinton are the prime suspects. The far right IS blaming biden, of course. Of course. So far I've seen people blaming DEI, Hamas, Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Obama, China. Surprisingly I saw no one blaming Israel but sure some nut has blamed them as well.

I didn’t realize the ship hit the bridge that hard. Probably a new bridge wouldn’t have survived that. I don’t see any tugs guiding it. The span was 1,200 feet which is pretty long for a bridge span, and weather LOOKED clear from the video. It should have been an easy passage. Unless it was done on purpose, which shouldn't be ruled out.

And if it was a terrorist attack, they picked the absolutely worst time to cause deaths.

So it will probably be about 2 or 3 years before the follow up report giving the who and the why.

So it will probably be about 2 or 3 years before the follow up report giving the who and the why. There have been multiple reports of it losing power and once they lost prepulsion it never came back. I’ve not seen it mentioned here yet, and have not seen US comfirmation as of yet, but I have also been reading that: “ Doomed cargo ship Dali was being piloted by a LOCAL crew who were trained to AVOID obstacles in the Baltimore port”. Which actually makes sense. I remember seeing a ship pilot documentary in the past where that is all they do in various harbors, and would explain why tugs aren’t used to get the ships to open seas. Much cheaper (normally) to hire pilots that know the local water ways to navigate the ships in and out.

And that would render 95% of the ridiculous conspiracy theories and that other brown thread started by a person on my ignore list completely moot with good ol Americans at the helm of the ship.
